With MQ2Bard, it appears pausing the plugin doesn't stop twisting (at least for single cast songs that I've noticed). I encountered this with my low level bard. I had Selo's running and did a group perma Invis from another toon in the group after I had paused everyone's plugins & macros. His Selo's broke his invis when it re-casted.

correct - we're pausing mq2bard's behavior, we're not pausing any eq behavior. that is how bard songs work in eq - while that might not be what you expected, that is not something we're going to change.

I'd suggest putting a pause and then stopsong

so you can either:

/dex bardname /brd aainvis
or if you wanted ALL bards to do it
/dg brd /brd aainvis

or if you're lazy /dg all /brd aainvis (this will have everyone attempt to /brd aainvis)


This is the actual hotkey i use on my driver

this says "since i'm a shadowknight using mq2eskay, let's make sure i'm in mode 0 since i want to move - have all the bards connected to dannet group "brd" exeucute a /brd aainvis"

you could have it toss a fresh selos if you wanted

Hmm. I thought at the low levels you could depress the song gem and just let it play indefinitely and this wouldn't break a permanent invis from another toon. You just can't twist that one song. If you play the song on twist, it will break invis. But you can play one song indefinitely and since it doesn't recast it doesn't break invis.

Yes, you can play a single song, not melody it, and then invis and that song will continue without breaking invis.

Finally got around to playing with the plugin today. Really really really need to have the ability to turn OFF the downtime playing. It's janky as all get out to see a bard bouncing up and down to play warmarch, that melee guard song and crescendo during downtime. No one would ever play a bard like that and it just screams robo. When medding, bard should just start up pulse or chorus (raids) in the current game and sit there and do nothing else at all, until something interrupts.

In any case, really would like the ability to just turn off downtime melody, or just pick either chorus or pulse and sit once and for all, since it's all kinds suspect if someone were to see that behavior as it stands currently.

Don't think it'll be a toggle, but I'll think about the situation and a if there's adjustments we want to do.

Loadouts are meant to be a best on-average overall choice for folks automating in all aspects. You can byos if you want to use a custom loadout. Lots of reasons why it is there, however.

But frankly, this is automation. This isn't dissimilar from #real paladins or shadow knights not walking around keeping up their self buffs. But we do and are going to.

They might not have to, but that is your opinion about sitting. If I manually play, I'll sit when my group does (if I'm not jumping around like a derp).

That's one of the tough balances of automation - being ready and not getting caught with your fingers in your bum, and not just singing songs willy nilly.

And as an aside - the daily/near-daily messages/demands/notaskingbutasking for the past ~3 years was orders of magnitude more challenging than this pre-release has been this far.

Unfortunately, I suspect much of that is due to baspends, summer, and overall lackluster LS expansion resulting in lower day-to-day EQ (using mq) population.

that's none-information to go by frankly. we don't even have a song group we called "Medley"

there's nothing that is set to just "stop doing this after a few hours"

you could be: invis without camp set, bugged eq spell gems or a million other things

but without information to help you, we can't

Well MQ2Bard does it's own songs. Running MQ2Medley while using MQ2Bard will have conflicting behavior. You should not run both at the same time.

we don't do anything with melody or anything else

correct, mq2bard does mq2bard stuff, it doesn't use mq2medley, mq2twist, eq's /melody or anything else - it does all its own stuff

Clicking LOTD while in combat (or requesting LOTD via /alt act # from dannet on another toon causes the ability to "cast" and the timer to be set, but the ability does not show up in the buff bar - it does seem like it may still be impacting experience earned but I don't have enough data to confirm. Casting LOTD with MQ2Bard paused causes the Buff to show up in the buff bar as expected.

Is the guidance to always issue a pause/stopsong or is this behavior not expected?

This is an eq feature, unfortunately. That is indeed the guidance elsewhere. Whether MQ2Bard has a way to address it, guess someone else can answer.

Thanks - I must have just gotten VERY lucky and not run into it somehow on my previous automation. Assumed it was more EQ specific that bard specific but was new for me here so figured I'd mention it!

It is for sure and EQ bug that is very easily reproducible without mq at all.

It is very frustrating

What I do when I throw lesson is swap over to my bard, pause The Bard, stop singing a song by pressing a spell, and then /cwtna lesson[/code]

mq2bard has its very own discussion thread, please post in there.

there actually isn't currently a way to make it to do the invis version - there are some reasons for that, which i'll probably figure out a solution for - but in the meantime you'll want to memorize it (since we don't use it automatically) and then pause the plugin and hit the button

if you're 110 with one of the best aas in the game you can just /brd aainvis like the commands/faq/vid show

sorry i don't use forums and stuff anywhere i'm kind of tarted with it and i don't read very well. i developed schizophrenia about 15 years ago and my thinking is slow. this place is so big. could you please direct me to a tutorial. i forget hot to pause a plugin
