Release MQ2AutoLoot

Not sure if this is helpful or not, but i did /mq2autoloot unload (I realize this was probably not the right way to do it), or something, and it unloaded EVERYTHING.... My MQ2Eskay, the mq2 chat window, etc. All of the check boxes in the advloot section disappeared. After relogging, everything started working again.

Still having issues... if i log out, and log back in, all works, but eventually it starts doing this again. The plugin is logging that its setting the item to greed, or no, rather than picking it up or destroying. I feel like this is something i can fix, but since its intermittent, i have no idea what.

First, /unload will unload all of MQ2, even if you put something like /unload mq2autoloot which i think is what you did.

Second, iirc having a filter set for an item will cause it to not loot the item, unless that behavior has changed, it was one of the reasons I had stopped messing with MQ2Autoloot. For example, if you have Always Need set for Diamonds, then mq2autoloot wouldn't try to loot the diamonds, but if the following item has nothing set, mq2autoloot would try to loot it, assuming an autoroll hadn't already started or something to that effect. I'd try removing all the item filters. If you're going to use autoloot you should use it exclusively.[/code]

if you have apply filters it ignores - if its not selected it uses it

you also need to /autoloot turn on

I'm pretty sure I don't have any item filters. On occasion, I'll click the Edit Filters button, and stuff be in there (I don't know how it gets there,) but I always remove it. When this started happening, I went into my Everquest folder and deleted any INI there that pertained to loot, then relogged. I think (i may be missing something,) that is everything that starts with LF_?

I have a hotkey that runs /autoloot turn on... ive beat the documentation to death trying to figure this out :) If you don't use it, do you just manually sort through the loot filter as you are grinding?

Ok, been using this for awhile but never really got into the nitty gritty other then loot, setsell, and sell. but as time has gone on, have came into situations where item gets looted by a class that can't use it and of course is no drop. Is there away to set the items so that if it is class and no drop that it doesn't get looted by a toon that can't use. Also can TS items be set in away so that they are flagged that they always goto a specific Toon. thought could do thru the need greed but doesn't seem to be working

not really.

you can edit your loot.ini so items are sent using the class flag and they would be sent to that class - but there isn't a way to set it up for items not in your loot.ini --- it would just default to your new item and no drop default. this requires you to do ahead of time - there isn't a way for mq2autoloot to say "hey this item i don't have in my loot.ini is a wizard only item - send to wizard plz"

the need/greed is the in-game adv loot - if you are using autoloot it does not use advloot; if you turn on apply filters it will use advloot and not autoloot etc.

That's a hard to do thing... don't know to add if don't know the item :bang: unless i specifically farming for item. Most of the items are Lore items so they just go down the group til all loot one, but not all can use.

Guess will continue to do what I been doing and just swap the TS items to other toons when done with the farms

Thanks

Make sure your NODROP default is set to "Ignore". That way all NODROP items that aren't already configured are simply left on the corpse and you can manually loot with the desired class. Once that happens the first time, the item is added to your loot.ini file and you can go in and configure it properly. If you are camping a specific item, like an aug or gear item, you most likely know the name of what you're going for and can add it to the loot.ini file ahead of time.

@Many_Whelps would use that if would work for what I am doing, normally i am just Name hunting so not specifically after any known item. if that was case I would just change who was master looter til first dropped.

BTW... WoW wasn't the first MMO, wasn't even the 2nd or 3rd... first ever MMO was Meridian59 brought to you by the same company the brought you Army Men... 3DO studios. I remember stress testing the Servers and would crash at about 2000 people. PKing was a sport then, and the PK hunters were abundant.

mmm... pretty sure it was WoW. source: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/wow-was-the-first-mmo

Might want to set them straight then, I been on computers since they first came out,.. first one was a home built by my neighbor, when i say home built I mean literally home built from all the actual circuitry, then the Trash 80's and Apples to the Apples IIe and the C64 and vic 20's. Think I still have the old 64 with the 5" floppy drive.

Meridian 59 was the first MMO and released 1995, Followed by Ultima Online 1997, followed by Everquest 1999 March and then Asheron's Call in November, Runescape 2001 Jan and then Dark Ages of Camelot (DaoC) in Oct., Final Fantasy in 2002, Shadowbane and Star Wars Galaxies 2003, EQ2 2004 just weeks prior to WoW

WoW was released 2004 and didn't become #1 MMO until 2008 when it took over top spot from EQ...

It all can all be checked on Wiki

WoW is still about the only MMO I never played. at my age it can be hard to go thru learning curves on these

But on better note I am going to use your suggestion to set NODROPS to ignore for right now as am farming specific drops and think it will be best as only need 1 drop. So Thanks for that suggestion.

Meridian59 was released in 1996. If you count early releases (which is what puts it in December of 1995) then you have to count the early release of other games in the genre and Meridian59 is no longer the first, but if you just count commercial release, Meridian59 was the first commercially available non platform associated MMO (in 1996).

Regardless, Pong was the first MMO.

I've just finished reading all 18 Pages here. Took me 2 days. Pretty much answered all my questions and now I'm using MQ2autoloot. Thanks to everyone who gave an answer and just as important to everyone who asked a question. If you have a question be assured someone here is thinking the same thing and maybe not sure how to ask or afraid of scrutiny. Thanks again to EVERYONE here)

@Draknocht I use the class and quest tags to add items to loot.ini for camps I'm going to hit. You could use the class tag to assign tradeskill loot, assuming you have 1 of that class in the group. IMO, taking the time to do that on the front end makes sorting TS junk much less onerous as it is eventually automatic.

@Sivispacem so if you wanted all Gems to go to an enchanter for JC, i can flag them to class? or even multiple classes so can use same across several groups? if so then this could work for what I am trying to do, I hate going thru hundreds of items and sorting to pass to correct toons that need time consuming and takes away for playtime. I'll look into this aspect as maybe it will work. Thanks

@Draknocht Yeah; say your mage is your gem mule. You'd want to go through and mark relevant TS items in your loot.ini file like this:

Blue Diamond=Gear|Classes|MAG|NumberToLoot|5000|

I personally HATE the inventory juggling aspect of TS more than anything else and while this will be a time commitment up front, you set it up and you're done with it. Autoloot is an essential QOL plugin, IMO, and if it were updated to add some sorting functionality or tagging + sorting, that would be amazing. I use relevant class tags to sort out loot at named camps as well. So say there's a NoDrop item you want and you have NoDrop pickup turned off, you can set the particular item(s) you want to still be looted and to be looted by the appropriate class.

@Sivispacem hoping my hotkey will work, i have something set like that so should be easy to run thru just click and drop on the hotkey. Each class has something set to them, like Ror with Poisons, Ranger with fletching, Druid with tailoring, Cleric and Smithing.... so yes this will get tested tonight, i hope... Thanks again

So using the /setitem Gear does set to gear and flags to any and all classes that can use, if nonspecific if flags to all classes, but least makes it easier to find and edit to class wanted. works perfect without editing for the rogue poison items as they are classed only to Rog. SO this will help ease the pain, to bad /setitem Gear can't have more to set it with. Maybe an update to extend that :airquote:

MQ2Autoloot on TLP's and saving bag slots:

Issue: On TLP's starting in classic, Autoloot will not inherently leave two open slots in your inventory while looting, even if you've defined that in your ini.

I've struggled with autoloot on Rizlona since it came out, and while I figured out what the issue was, it still took me a while to identify a solution until recently. The issue I finally identified is that EQ in the first half dozen expansions only gives you access to 8 inventory main slots. However, there are actually 10 slots there, but 2 of them are "semi-disabled", so Autoloot sees those two slots existing, and tries to save them as open slots when looting, and you end up with crap on your cursor all the time from failed loots, autoforaging, trades, and mass mod rods etc. If you are using macros to /autoinventory or /exchange items, you can "lose" things to those hidden two slots. My bandolier usage for my rangers and warriors nailed me with this multiple times, making me think I'd lost one of my epic weapons. What actually happens is that the item goes to one of those restricted slots if all inventory slots are full. In order to get that item back you have to log out, back in, and go to a parcel vendor, and the item "lost" will be found there for retrieval.

Solution: What I ended up doing that so far seems to be working, is to change my "saved slots" in my ini to save 4 slots instead of 2. Over the past 2 days of using this setting I've not lost anything to the hidden slots at least. You can edit this setting in the ini, or in game you can issue this command: /autoloot saveslots 4

You know I just noticed that my ini has always been set to 6, but it only saves 4. Must be the same function. I suppose at 4 you are keeping 2 free?

Ok...just getting into this and I don't got it I read this far...how do i make this keep EOK/ROS, TOV/COV non-prestige and ultra-rare stuff?
Yes I suck at code...give me a little rope. :bang:

In my Loot.ini I have a line that says Clockwork Gnome Gear=Keep However my toon continually leaves Them? What am I doing wrong?

Give me an example of an item your wanting to keep and what you currently have it set to in your ini?

Chat, Kaen.. can you help with using autoloot and having different MLs in other zones? IE i have 4 groups, in 4 zones, autoloot on to the bag char, but only 1 person (first zone group) autoloots.. the other 3 looters/bag people require me to force loot.. game setting, autoloot setting, or just not supported?

Just an issue or two with this. Since I'm filling my loot.ini with new items because im building one, is there a way to automatically assume I don't want an item by ignoring it? I'd like it to ignore it if its not in the database already, add it as ignored, and if I want to keep that item I can go back and set it to keep. Now every new item I see I have to click on it in my bags and set it to ignore then destroy it myself?

Playing Riz with a duo box, for context. Thank you.

you can set a nodropdefault to ignore

/autoloot nodropdefault ignore

but nothing for non-nodrop items, outside of a newitemdelay

make sure autoloot is turned on on everyone in every group

/autoloot turn on

if you use eqbc or dannet you can just broadcast it to everyone.

Hmmm...so is there an updated autoloot file that keeps all chase loot? Recently noticed this isn't picking those up...or spell lamps from tbl

How can i set all no drop items to simply be left in the advloot window? Example - i'm in a brand new camp, never killed the named, never seen teh no drop items from named. I want to auto loot everything that is not no drop (working out of the box) and i want to leave all No Drop items in the advloot window for me to assign as I wish.

I think the closest thing is a setting called "NewItemDelay". Set that for like 300 seconds and you'd have 5 minutes to manually deal with something new which hasn't been added to your loot.ini file.

/AutoLoot nodropdefault [quest|keep|ignore] -> Will set new no drop items to this value

have your nodropdefault set to ignore

When i set to ignore, as that is the first thing i tried, my looter simply left the no drop items on the corpse.

When i set to ignore, as that is the first thing i tried, my looter simply left the no drop items on the corpse.
then you will either want to set your new item delay to something super long like suggested, or quickly turn off autoloot when you are fighting a named (i often do this)

wish there was a cleaner way that autoloot could inspect the item - and based on a prioritzed-by-name list, dish out gear that matches those classes lol, iirc autoloot can't do this beacuse you'd had to right click and inspect the loots

The timer works, but once i leave a loot one time, it ends up leaving it always.

So today I'm at a camp, 6 people get xp, 28 out of group helping to power level. During this grind, there are named that drop gear for pretty much everyone. I'm also working, so the screen is off to my left and i'm not visually watching it every second. So, if i miss a named, then i don't know as it isn't there in the adv window.

I'll see if i can come up with a better solution.
