MQ2 Disappearing act

So twice in the past week I have encountered an issue with MQ2 and I am wondering if anyone knows what is causing the problem. I go to start MQ2 as usual and launch the redguides launcher open the MQ2 folder and go to launch MQ2 but the exe is not there. Yes I know I rerun the installer and it puts it back and I can run it, however,

your antivirus or somesuch quarantining it / deleting it?

Make sure it's currently there. Then have your antivirus scan the directory and see if it disappears again.
