Question - MQ2 and ARM CPU (1 Viewer)

I am playing Everquest, more specifically EMU EQ on the Project Lazarus server... on a Mac. I use Parallels to run a VM on my M2 Pro macbook, and I have installed a ARM version of Windows 11.

I cannot get MQ2 to work at all, and I am wondering if it is related to the fact that it is the version of windows.

MQ2 will run and turn on, but as soon as you load EQ it crashes. No error nothing. If I run EQ first, then it run MQ2 the crash still happens.

I am just wondering if there is any way to get some form of autoboxing working, even if its not MQ2.

there should be some posts around here, where people have successfully run it on mac, i dont know the terms to search for, but you could try to look up stuff you know.

Try disabling Dannet in your MacroQuest ini. My Mac’s don’t play nice with it…which is a bummer because I would like to switch to it.

i dont know anything about ARM CPU, but d3d9.dll is DirectX file, maybe try to reinstall directx if possible?
I just got myself a Surface Pro 12 with ARM cpu, so I will try to run eq and mq2 on it.

You need to run it through wine not a vm. I run EQ fine on my Mac with MQ using Crossover with a few caveats. Luarocks will not run. its the package manager for Lua scripts. mq2dannet won’t run causes EQ to freeze not Dannets fault its a bug in Wine with sockets.

Workarounds are to copy the Lua scripts from a PC environment if they update via Luarocks package manager.

Use EQBCS instead of DanNet.

Parallels will work fine; you need to ensure you have all the directx files installed and set some executables to run as administrator. This post shows what files to add as administrator.

I run on Lazarus with DanNet and RGMercs Lua. The only thing I have not been able to do is the autologin from MQ. It will not open eqgame...I open my eq instances manually and the injections work with no issues.
