MQ version 6.0?

Ok, noob question. What is a Ranger Gate???

Welcome to Everquest!

BTW if SOE is making adjustments that mimic EQ2 at all, I hear that game is so secure it is unable to be hacked. They run live updates there regularly constantly changing the eqmain files. I had someone run the technical hub bub of ot past me but reading it gave me a headache... however if they start to implement something similar in EQ1 then MQ just may be /cries dead.

In the meantime. Dev of MQ2 and Mods of Redguides, keep up the great work and see on the inside!

I really hope they don't kill mq2. I only play to use mq2. If it dies, I have no reason to play EQ. I bet lots of folks are in the same boat. And I don't farm or sell stuff or anything, I just enjoy eq as long as I have mq2. Without it, it is just WAAAAYYY too tedious! :)

That's funny. EQ2 can't be hacked? It can and it is. It's actually easier than EQ in many cases because of the deep hooks into DirectX which allows manipulation of the client in a much more direct manner.

I used to use automated tradeskill macros, that worked great, and routinely surpassed my ability to make perfect items. There were macros to locate, travel to, and mine out tradeskill nodes, and hunter/killer macros.

The EQ2 team restart the servers daily to keep them 'fresh', and it shows in the server-side performance. It's also easy for them to slip in updates a little at a time.

Anyone who says that EQ is trying harder to catch hackers is probably full of shit.

Anyone who says that hacking EQ2 is impossible is an ignorant fool.

Anyone who can't play EQ without MQ shouldn't be playing.

And oh yeah, I'll have a new compile out as soon as there is a zip on the MQ site. No sooner.

After ten years of playing eq, I can play it very well without mq2. I am just old enough to realize that the evergrind is a waste of time when there is so much more to life lol :)

I've been seeing a lot of people using MQ2 without care with others around them. I only use it for the map feature, I think this is something that just rocks, to see the little dots roaming is just cool that and warping (but I still prefer to play without cheating) - But there's no fairness in dueling. Granted on my server, if you gate through pok, there is a gm that stands at the warp in spot with dead bodies piled up (prob working in conjuction with an old elite guild on that server... had a buddy that doesn't play any more, his corpse was one of them at that spot, he got banned, and not just for a week or two but for life. Sadly enough, /w all GM didn't see this GM standing there, as I tried it and it showed no GM's on list.

Anyway, will check back at a later date to see if new rev is out.
I got some AA's to get!

RQ and I spent a while trying to work on structs and just got sick of it...so you're probably seeing frustration from that and the like 50 PMs that he and I have gotten between us asking about updating f'ing compiles.

EWWW....lol not trying to rush you all was just curious hehe....didnt know would get like 50 responses lol

We're grateful for you guys doing the compiles. Everyone who's working on plugins and other public hacks, macro writers, everyone who makes this site work.

Hay, Thank you guys so much for working on the struts and stuff. I know dont contribute around here but i just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! You are doing great =) keep up the great work. And please dont let people get to you.....

I've been trying to think of something appropriate to say so I could express my 2 redcents worth, but after reading the last 4 pages..My earlier post included..I'm a little hard press to say something serious at all because I've been laughing my arse off. Thanks for the break in depression and blues from not having mq2...lol!

Anyways..now that I've stopped laughing I guess I should relay the news I've heard. From what I've been told by devs and programmers we shouldn't be holding our breathe waiting on a new compile before the weekend is over. Word is that EQ will be grinding out all the bugs this last expansion has caused throughout the weekend and possibly all the way to the middle of next week. (Yes, you may /cry now.) As stated previously there’s a lot more issues and in-game extras then most people think with this expansion and I've heard that there is going to be at least two more server-wide updates in the coming days. I believe one is suppose to happen on Friday and, keeping my fingers, toes, and anything else I can cross crossed, the other (and hopefully final) update is suppose to be on Monday. Now, with that said, please don’t panic! Those mobs on the way to the great out doors are all grey and con friendly, and that box that plays those obnoxious infomercials day in and day out will not harm you. Just be patient with the staff at MQ2 and RedQuest...Donate if you haven't because it really is worth it, and enjoy roughing it for a few more days. (Yes, I know..running at speed 1 is killing me too and I wish I had my gate so I wouldn’t have to waste plat on those stupid pots that never work anyways..lol) The worse that could happen is that you'll just re-affirm how much we all love our third-party secret...lol.

Gah another update. I just wanted to say thank you to all those who make this site work. I know it is tedious work and we all get to enjoy the reward of those tedious hours. You all do a supurb job. Thanks again and yes it is cold outside wish I had a instant campfire in real life hehe.

If you haven't been thru a new release just be patient. I have been doing some house cleaning in my bank and mules so I am ready when everything is up and running.

My eqlife is like married life, we been together a long time and I know almost every zone I've been to, like the back of my hand, can pull and train to zone blindfolded.

It's about time to spice up our relationship and learn new tricks.
Who better to learn new tricks from, than the experts who are living it? Natural eq-pornstars you guys are, doing it like theres no tomarrow.
I think we all could learn alot from natural hackers.

Anyone who dissagrees should see Fast and the Furious 3 again, "See all those people down there? They follow the rules and never take any risks out of fear." Rules? It's a method of control, no one does anything wrong because they're afraid of the consequences.

Free your mind from the limitations of society. Break free from the mold that they set upon you and expect you to fill. A free mind is a free soul, and if everyone thought outside the box, it would be free world.

rock on.

now for mq to work again so i can afk xp and be free!

teehee.

for me eq is like a wife who i have a hired boyfriend to take care of her needs. cuz im too busy/lazy to be at the "keyboard'

Here's my take on the patch:

It is the initial patch that really, really messes things up. Structs, packets, offsets, the works. The patches that follow generally affect *small* things...offsets will need to be updated, but packets shouldn't, and if structs are changed, it's normally in very small ways. So while, yes, the following patches are annoying, the biggest hump of the expansion patch week is *almost* done, according to the Devs...they had everything but the UI structs done as of like last night. So...hopefully...we'll get a zip over the weekend. Hopefully.

ooooooh god i hope so i need my mq......... everquest just aint the same without it :)

Ok I know this only directly related to directx and hacking, but remember when halflife tfc and redfaction were the hot fps online games to play? people used autoaim bot programs to pwn noobs and never miss, and they were programed through the ui in directx and there was no way the devs could guard against it, until the gamespy started using punkbuster and that was pretty much all she wrote. forgot to menion it kicks people not cheating also, other programs set it off, not sure what, but anyways. yes it's flawed.

now you can't get an online game going on a sever without punkbuster, because of all the dam cheaters. I don't like punkbuster, but sometimes I can't live without it. :o
heh. you wanna see a cheaters nightmare, play starwars battlefront 1 or 2, pwned constantly by graphics glichters. they get inside the walls and places you can't go, within the world structure and pwn you from where you can't hit them back. only way you can avoid them is if you run your own game and ban cdkeys. that's an entirely diff discussion if i continue, no comment.

now, with that being said, I don't know if eq is gonna use something like punkbuster, but if eq2 isn't using a similar structure, then it's a lie that can't be hacked, and if someone hasn't talked about doing it yet, then give it time.:drink

to those of you who don't know what punkbuster is, it scans the players pc for other programs running that change the memory of the particular game running that uses it. and to be honest it works pretty well against hackers and cheaters, and bans em if they're found cheating automatically without gm/dm/admins.:(

remember the film hackers? "you can stop one of us, but you can't stop us all" :p

Punkbuster is flawed beyond reason.

I play bf2142 all the time and punkbuster has kicked me from servers left and right, but I don't use ANY hacks/cheats/etc with bf2142.

It has a problem with being "over cautious" which restricts users when there is a questionable situation (virus scanner, USB drivers, etc). A pay service better never use such a tool, it is unacceptable to restrict a user who is paying without proper validation.

Pay services (EQ, etc) would rather let a few people who mildly cheat get away with it, than they would to piss off a legitimate player.

From the time I spent macroing in EQ2, and EQ, they use the same system to catch people on both, the time-honors Snitch. If you don't do anything to get ratted out, no one is going to mess with you.

And keep in mind, there are people who use MQ that will rat on other people using MQ. I know someone on my server who did this (retired thankfully). I think he was just trying to get the compitition banned so he could make more money. Its one thing to think warping is bad and petition people who warp, but if you warp yourself, I think thats a problem.

I do not believe that EQ will ever auto ban people for things, although I am very surprised they have not figured out nodelay yet, as it seems like it would be easy to track. I think they will just continue banning those of us that get caught. Personally, I try to keep active hacks to a minimum, just to reduce exposure. Especially after a new expansion like this.

man this post is funny...i think its funny that so many of us just dont even bother to log in anymore without the crutch sad cause most of us got into this as top players who got bored. im gonna play vanguard awhile till eq is fun again =)

I was told at one point that anyone else running MQ2 could see who else in the zone was running MQ2, is this true? I don't really believe it is, as I haven't seen any plugin / macro for doing so, but anted to ask for informational sake. I would assume the only way to tell for sure is to see someone doing something that is only possible with MQ2.

Also, what is the purpose of MQ2safe? I saw that a long time ago, but haven't seen it in a while so wasn't sure what it's purpose, etc. was.

no and yes. It doesnt "auto detect" but if you watch the map or pay attention to someone you can tell if they do. Macros mess up sometimes also and you can tell then too. All my mq2 friends i met by their macros messing up. Or they B line straight for a mob.

Actually, it's just being able to recognize stuff. It's easiest to spot in melee people.../stick is a DEAD GIVEAWAY.

My personal favorite was standing next to someone trying to gate but they made a typo....

I see
XXXX says:"g/ate"

I thought it was hilarious, they were also blatantly hacking before that and then I didnt see them for a long time... make what assumptions you will.

That's exactly why I started using it. 6 yrs and X amount of Sony dick ups of Verants work and I'm just bored as hell with EQ. But I can't dump it since I DO have 6 yrs of my life invested in it LOL

Its more that you see patterns cause you are doing the same things ..

patience :) I am sure the new precompile will be ready shortly
