Question - MQ on only a few accounts?

Hello there,

I am used to play 3 accounts manually (tank, healer, slower) and would like to replace my dps mercs with MQ DPS accounts.

Is it possible to run MQ on only these accounts and not run it on the main 3?

I wouldn't do that personally. MQ has built-in protections, and personally, I feel it is an all-or-nothing type environment. It doesn't mean you have to have automation running on those accounts...but if you load up EQ, load up MQ first.

Yes, you can... but depending on your setup it might not be ideal.
I don't wanna tell you how to play EQ but generally speaking it's a "In for a penny in for a pound" type situation here. You are not any safer just running automation on three accounts vs six. If that's even your concern and outside of some very specific situations you'll want MQ on all your box's to send commands. So really what we'd need from you is a better idea of how you intend to use this to point at the things that would best serve.

yes it is possible to do . but why do it? what are you trying to do? is it the fact of trying to be hidden away from geting caught ? ive been checked by many gm , they always ask me if these are my bots , and if im not afk , after that they leave ,,,
and playing in instances isnt 100 safe they came in there and checked me too ,,,,,

Thx for the answers :)

Safety is one concern indeed. Another is that i dont want to lose teh ability to play my three main accounts the way i am used to.
As to how i intend to play.. its really just like i said. Merc DPS has become more and more pitiful over the years and i would like to add some more DPS to my trio. Ideally the way mercs work.
Following me around and attack my targets.
I've had a 6 box in the past already, so i am not new to the whole endevour. What i dont know is how to have MQ on my DPS accounts, and not on my main accounts (which i am controlling via ISBoxer setups).

I have some main accounts I won't run while MQ is in memory. I use 2 computers side by side. One PC is running MQ automation, the other is not. They can all be grouped and the ones running MQ automation can fit right in and do their job.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still violating the EULA, it's just that if they did a process scan they'd never find any evidence of MQ use on the characters/accounts running on the machine without MQ. I still get a certain amount of automation even on those characters because I pay for ISBoxer which has computer-to-computer key broadcasting. It's a real PITA to configure the first time but works well eventually.

To some degree it may not matter anymore because it doesn't look like they've been actively suspending MQ users for a bit over a year now.

I cannot remember the last time MQ itself was detected. If ever. Usually, it is some sort of automation, like the bazaar macro, or something similar. But MQ itself? Sic might know the answer better...

I am pretty confidant they were scanning for EQBCS when it was loaded as a service over a year ago. Since then though RG has taken steps to hide the EXE and services.

honestly I never load up MQ first ever
Bold one here...

Loading MQ first gives you the protection right away and from my understanding, masks the processes or whatever they do to protect us. Injecting afterward seems silly. IMHO.

You'll need to segregate the accounts to their own computer. Run 3 accounts sans MQ on one computer and the 3 accounts with MQ on the 2nd computer.

"Staying Safe" is a fantastic policy to maintain and I highly encourage you to never grow complacent if your going to use this software. No matter how long it's been since a ban wave we are always at the whim of DPG and the GM's for the next one.

So far, it sounds like the best setup you could have to maintain what you'd want is a two computer setup. Computer A runs isboxer and your 3 mains and computer B runs MQ and your DPS squad.
Once you've got that setup using stuff like Kissassist/Rgmercs/CWTN will be a breeze and you'll start getting those deeps.

Why not just let MQ be loaded on all instances, and merely not run any automation on the toons you don't want automated?

Had to rewrite my posts a few times cuz I felt the same way. Had all sorts of big ideas on the direction they could (Should?) go but at the end of the day I have to assume OP knows what OP is about.

A
s Robahn said "Safety is one concern indeed. Another is that i dont want to lose teh ability to play my three main accounts the way i am used to."

IMO once Robahn gets a taste of the good stuff, they will come around and automate the rest of the crew but to each their own. I have friends that have seen all MQ has to offer and still went back to the tried and true. It's really up to the person.

I think the answer to the OP question is to startup the 3 toons that you do not want MQ on then startup EQ and load up the 3 you want to run MQ on. I am not 100% certain that will work, but there have been a couple of times i forgot to load MQ first and when I got into game I had no MQ functionality so I had to totally log back out and start over. Having experienced this is why i think it will work.

Id add in a VPN on one so they are not coming from the same public IP if paranoid.

Or even /unload on the instances you don't want MQ to run on after they are loaded up?

I can't auto load all my toons at once while I get a drink from the other room if I'm loading mq after everything else is loaded. Gah, the amount of time that would take. Autologin is like....one of the best features possible for boxing I just wouldn't want to do without it.
