I noticed that when my characters enter a force medding state, the pets arent active.

Is this a setting I've missed? Because I think the pets should still be able to attack while medding.

If your mercenary attacks something while you are in rest, you can stay in rest.. so long as you don't get touched.

If your pet attacks something, you will be kicked out of rest mode into combat, and lose resting bonus. Your forced med states would take forever. This is why your pet gets "disabled" while your in med state.

P.S. If you are having trouble with med, try changing your dps section or spells to reduce mana expense per mob, and/or jump on a mount.

I'm on TLP so no mercs

I understand what you said about why.... is there a way I can change this mode?

There are, but to make a good suggestion, we need to know more about what your doing.

If the characters doing "force med" means they are stopping action while someone else meds, then you can turn off groupwatch, or at least change it to GroupWatch=2, where they will only watch for the healers to meditate. This would leave them active through the med processes.

However if it is your character that is running out of mana and needs to sit and med, then as long as MedCombat=0 , the macro should respond to combat even if it's medding.. I believe. I could be wrong. Generally I don't make my camp somewhere that I can get aggro'd while medding.

Give more detail and perhaps someone can assist you more.

You only need groupwatch=1 on the character that is controlling pulls. The way I configure my group is set GroupWatch=1 on my puller. On all other characters set GroupWatch=0. Now on all Characters in group set MedOn=1, and MedStart=90, and MedCombat=0.

This will cause all characters while not in combat to med if their mana/endurance is below 90, and the puller will hold pulls if any other group member's mana/endurance falls below 20%

Now as far as pets attacking, pets should attack only on their owners command. It is not a good idea to not have your pet on /hold. You can turn off pet /hold, but sitting while your pet is in combat is not a good practice. If you grab agro when sitting and the mob runs over and starts beating on the pets owner. The macro will just try and sit you down again and the mob will most likely turn and hit you again.

Like DriveCrash mentioned, we need more details on what you are trying to accomplish.

Pally tank (/mac kissassist tank self targeted)
Ranger chain pull (/mac kissassist puller pally targeted)
necro w/ pet (assist on pally)
cleric (assist on pally)
druid for group sow/regen/thorns (assist on pally)
chanter for buffs/mez (assist on pally)

when necro starts to med, doesnt send pet.
I tried this thread- Would not help me getting chanter to mez. I had one sucessful mez out of 50+ pulls. buffs fine, no mez.
ranger pulls great
Pally tanks incoming mobs great, does not grab wandering mobs well. (/mac kissassist tank w/ self targeted)

My other group set up is 2 mages 2 necros. There should be a /combatmed=3|% This mode would only send pets while less than %

For chanter, this seems very buggy. I spent over an hour trying all different suggestions, and nothing works consistently.

When I set Combatmed=0 on my toons, they stand around until they are oom, then they keep standing there.

Kiss does not allow any dps during medding because on live servers if you attack it drops you out of the 3min fast med stance and into attack stance. So it the pet attacks you are not medding.

MedStart=90 should be like 20 or 30. Groupwatch stops toons medding at 90%.

Yes I understand that. However, I would still like control over this, because my priority is in this order: pet > med stance > 0 mana

Bigger issue is chanter though.

I replied on the chanter thread. The tag |2 at the end of the single target mez is breaking the code. There is no declare for single target mez's, only AoE.

And as far as the necro pet > med stance > 0 mana .. You would have to get into the KissAssist code and modify the routine, because while I understand why you want that behavior, it would not work for the majority of users. The amount of code modification required could be extensive. You might instead look for a necro specific macro that allows for the behavior you are wanting.

Another option is to set up EQBC and have a command sent to your other accounts from the account you are controlling that sends their pets to attack your current target.

There is a possibility that a HolyShit/DownShit could make the necro use his pet during med, but I wouldn't have the first clue how to configure it, and I have no idea how KA would react to it. My best guess is that once you entered combat, KA would resume combat activity (including casting).

Best of luck.

I dont have a |2 on my code so thats not my problem. it just isnt recognizing there is a mob that needs to be mezzed. Its more of an OCD thing than a necessity, my box group can handle the adds, its just principle. Chanter is there, use it.

you mean you edited your INI file to remove the |2 from the name of your mez spell and it is still not working? Or you are not seeing in the INI posted in the thread of that link where there is a |2 at the end of the mez spell?

with kiss running type /debugmez with mq2log going then pull ssome adds and see what the mez section is doing

I never had |2 in my INI, that was somebody else who I referenced.

I'll try that Saar, ty

that was not my thread, I was just linking it because my issue is similar, and nobody really ever helped that guy out. he had to cheat the system by using AE mez instead of single target.

His single target is likely still broken, and meaning that I am not the only one with this unresolved issue.

I see. I would like to point the finger at TLP, but really we should try to figure out why. If you can post the debug file that saar mentioned we can start to narrow it down. More controlled fights might help with your mana problem. Another thought is, when do Necro's get mana-sieve type spells? I've used those to great success on my pally/cleric/nec/nec/nec group ;)

Mana sieve is luclin I believe.

Tonight I will have time to debug mez, and I will post results :)

well with not playing on tlp server i wont be able to track this bug down, i am just throwing a guess and maybe mask can chime in and tell me otherwise. What i am "thinking" is going on is that its trying to use xtarget to target the adds, and not a radius array, so thats why it works on normal servers and not so well on tlp server. if it was a radius array it would store each add's id in a array and keep mezzing them tell you woke one and it dropped out, only bad this about that way is it is unreliable, because you cant see the mobs hp till it is targeted, so it might re mez a mob that you woke up thinking its just worn off and try to remez. like i said maybe mask can set me wrong, i havent looked too deep at the legacy mezzing code, but what im thinking is just a theory.

are you hunting giants perhaps?...

you mentioned TLP and that reminded me of someone having issues with some Kunark giants..

TLP has xtarget in our compile. Complete mystery why it works but its there.

The other thread had the issue cause giants can't be mezd.

I wasn't at giant fort. I was out in the middle of the zone, and I was able to target all of the Giants and mez them with dazzle. Bees, gorillas, wurms, all mezzable.

- - - Updated - - -

It just wasn't even trying. I saw it work once, and it was on a mob my ranger pulled, and mezzed it before it even hit anyone. If only that was 100% or even 80% of the time

I would try editing your kissassist_info.ini file and find the section for the zone you are in and see what mobs are listed in any of the entries.

I did a debugmez thing, but I dont know where it put the data.

I know how to post the data. I dont know where to find it.

- - - Updated - - -

i'm trying again right now in case it never really captured anything.

Ahhhh. Go to the MQ main folder and you will see the logs folder. Go into the logs folder to find the .log file for your character..

Thanks. I think I found the problem though. DPS was not turned on, which apparently needs to be on for mez. I didnt see that anywhere in the manuals. You might want to update that.

You might think, well duh- But what I mean is, they are both set to 1, yet I still have to toggle it on in game for it to work.

nope. I start them with assist with tank targeted.

ok well this is resolved. thanks for helping guys:)
