If anyone out there has done this or has ANY helpful advice or strategy, for the love of god share. This thing looks undoable with a 6 box crew. :bang:

I've only done this as a 2-box with 4 other live players. I'm sure someone out there will box it, but for the rest of us, I'd have to say this is beyond the reach of an average box team.

To do the achievement proper, you have to build up ranks before pushing Aary out of phase 1. So you need your tank to entertain the boss for the 12 to 15 minutes it takes for the rest of the group to do the mechanic. When the auras pop, you need 4 people to go stand in each one. It's best to pre assign who will stand in which aura, because you need to stand in the same aura each time in order to build up stacks. If you don't stand in the same one you did previously, it will reset your echo stack, which is the opposite of what you need to be doing. In between auras, you get all sorts of fun things: zone-wide, unresistible dot that WILL kill you if you don't cast group heals between ticks, adds that need to be handled and killed, 1 player gets banished to the room directly West of the event area (there is trash in that room that must be pre-cleared before starting the event) and an immersion bubble that drops on someone, effectively taking them out of the fight until it despawns. Survive 5 waves of all that while building up ranks of the echo debuff (dying resets your stack) and then you can continue the event. Now just deal with the golems and spheres and Aary to win the event.

Yup, tricky one for sure, Absor did mention he has some adjustments to make and acknowledged it is buggy, so we may see it become a bit easier next week, who knows.

One thing you can do to make a little easier right now, is have the tank do the Shadow Aura, can just stand in that Aura all the time ..... as long as Aary has been dropped below 97% he'll just summon the tank back after the banish

Good idea! We had our banish character manually run back. He didn't always make it with the dot going.

I know this will likely be nerfed soon, but if you have a mage in the group you can go get the first level of echo and then COH to the end of the hall and let the event reset. Then do that over and over again until you get to level 4. THEN when you go to the 5th level you run the event and kill him and you get the achievement. You can't TA out. Players in the mission must stay in the mission.

Cheers!

So have 4 toons run in and get the 1st level of echo for all 4 auras? And then coth them all out and reset the event? Rinse, repeat? Does something stop you from doing that a 5th time, resetting the event, and then going in to kill the event while ignoring the echo stuff?

Yeah it bugged out and the dragon wouldn’t land.

Mage kept dying from auras. Where do you place him to not get hit? He died before he could COH us.

Do you run this with two healers, as well? Because you need one in the hallway with the mage and one in the event with the tank because he's tanking aary while you wait on auras, right?

Yes 2 healers required. We did it with a pally and shaman one time.

Yea, I'd be using a cleric and shammy, but I'd also be trying to do it boxing.... which seems difficult.

It’s not hard to box.

You will need to set nav Waypoints at each of the spots.

/bct Toon1 //nav wp fire
/bct toon2 //nav wp earth
/bct toon3 //nav wp shadow
/bct toon4 and 5 //nav wp COH

tank is already at ice.

just make sure your toons aren’t going to cross in to another aura. So have them semi close to the spots.

As soon as you get the intruders curse heal up and then hit that hotkey.

Will the auras spawn with just aary agro'd? Or do you need to beat it down a while first?

No damage on the dragon just offtank it.

@burdsjm Why do you have the mage nav to the COH wp? Why not start the event with everyone already in their respective spots?

mage needs heals from intruders curse.

Yea, so if you're running two healers, that means you can leave the mage in the coth spot with a healer AND leave one healer with the other four toons in the main room (1 tanking aary other 3 standing in their spots).

having just tried today with a raid level tank, one healer tanking aary didn't work.

Like, at all? Because I've boxed this mission easily to the point where Aary + Grolik + Guardians + Orbs show up all at once... until then I do just fine with one cleric healing.

After all that above happens... I die :)

ya winning mission is completely different ball game from trying for cheeve. u need 2 healers in group or some sort for sure.

I found that the most effective strategy to do the CoH method is to put the mage on the shadow aura.

I set up a hotkey for the mage to use CoH group as soon I see him get banished (make sure no dots or pets on Aaryonar or the Raptor). Then heal the group up at the banish spot until all AEs stop. For the 5th run, when the mage gets banished, I had no issue using /nav to get him back to the group for a heal in time, and then took it home for the win.

Also, I had the mage get on aggro list a few times, so as a precaution, should have a second hotkey setup to use fade before CoH for those situations.

Anyone try this on test server after the changes? Seems like the mission itself would be easier, but getting the achievements may not be.

I noticed no difference on crusaders personally if you can't do it on live probably can't do it on test. Ary got easier but crusaders seems 100% same.

Swap mage for a ber and you will probably win.

Do we know if this has been nerfed yet? I have not tried it this way yet, and plan to do it soon. Would like to know if it still works before I give it a try.
