Today with my monk i was in skyfire looking for a mob for bard epic. I read that he spawned in the lava pit behind VP entrance. I went up there and while i swam down i noticed that my safe fall was going up when i bumped the wall so i turned around and looked as far down as it would let me (facing the wall now) i ended up getting stuck and all the sudden my safe fall was gaining lvls about 2/second went from 175 or so to 375 in about 30 seconds or so. I tried this same method with my 55 bard and no luck.

My loc was +3336 +3133
i looked straight down and faced wall (once i was under)

If this works for ya gratz

I do have swimming maxed and run 8 not sure that would have anything to do with anything.

worked for me perfect. i too am a 75 monk with run 8 and took less than a minute to go from a skill of 205 to 380. i just jumped in the lava pit behind veeshan's peek and swam to the bottom looking down.
 
Very nice, it must be the Maxed swimming, that would be a good possibility.
 
I have heard you can do the same thing in Plane of Tranquility. Jump into the water to one side and look down while swimming. I plan on trying it sometime this weekend.
 
Well I know this is an old post but Tried today and couldnt get it to work. Although not sure maybe i wasnt doing correctly did u have Lev on ?
 
btw.. only certain classes have Safe Fall, just in case some people didn't realize that...
 
well I tried both with levi and w/o on my monk and couldnt get it to work someone was telling me there was another place where you could max it out by auto running and hitting a teleporter pad and u jump off land and port back up. Thinking maybe in Erudite home city.
 
I've used the Setgrav plugin to max out safefall on my monk in the past. It took longer than 30 seconds but every step I took added a skill-up hehe
 
Another way to get your Safe fall up, though not so fast, is holding the up arrow, and right arrow, tapping the enter key, (this will auto circle you without cheats). Do this anywhere there is a repeatable dropoff, i.e. a very steep wall.

I personally love the old EC trading tunnel myself. I have used this for years, whenever i needed to get a rogues safe fall up.

Best way I've found to skill up safe fall is to head to erudin, if you enter through Toxx take the little port pad up, before you move anywhere turn and face the port pad on the bottom level, and hit auto run. If your safe fall is already in the 50ish range I think, you will never take damage, confidently go AFK or do something else (even go to bed) when you wake up, your safe fall will be maxed. May be a bit slower, but it always works, and uses no bugs/exploits to be fixed.

True, once gravity is high enough then it can kill you. But I used to just set my gravity to somewhere between 4 and 10 and just stand still and even without envirofall I took no damage. That could be because I was a Monk with already fairly high safe fall though.
 
Note: i have safe fall 220... and grav 4 did kill me. Definitally recommend the noenvironment dmg docrack setting.
