Discussion - Marks of Valor

So I'm just getting back into EQ after I had to take a break to finish my degree, and I want to know if anyone has a good strategy for farming Marks of Valor. With the 6 hour lockout, it seems to have slowed down everything considerably (I guess this will be 3 hours soon?), and I was thinking that with a little thought, an optimum rotation can be thought of. However, I'm not all that familiar with how easy the various HA's are because when I left, all you had to do was chain run Scouting Ahead and/or Into the Hills.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

You can purchase gear from the newest expansion pretty cheap already and that gear is better than the gear from these missions. I would recommend doing that. If you don't want to go that route you can help yourself by farming missions with gear you want and having someone else purchase your latent armor for you. A couple missions like the DH one with the named and his three guards drop loot every time.

I thought all the missions dropped loot every time, but the reason I didn't do them originally was because they had 6 hour lockouts -- which I guess now puts them on even footing with HA's. My tank also tended to die in some of them, which might be a KA problem (I'll look into it).

I'm holding off on getting TDS until I know it's worth it (though with a soon to be max group of 100's it will probably be worth it soon...).

You should be able to purchase TDS gear (if it's droppable) without having the expansion unless they changed something from previous expansions.

I just did this today and got some TDS non visibles in the bazaar. I don't own the xpac but I can use them.

here is the rub, in order to turn in latent to get the gear you need to have the expac to get to the turn in guy, you can have the latent piece from the baz but you cannot get the box to do the combine to get the t1 or t2 armor unless you have the expac, drives me nuts my 85 ftp accounts cannot get augs from the vendor in ethermere unless I upgrade all the way to the new expac now...
