you havent been on this site long enough , you are using false threats first off . how you gona be 12 accounts w/o mq second , your paid class subscriptions are seperate from your mq subscription... piss them off and you be lucky to get to use mq , just saying lol
he was talking about dpg losing those yearly subs not redguides, try to act like you can read.

Is this EQ trying to ruin MQ?
i think its more the community needing to have more patience, but it would be nice to get an update on the progress of the patch maybe once every 12 hrs or once a day. just to give us something to chew on like whats the biggest issue facing the patch so far.

that's a weird take - EQ does not want mq. so yeah kind of.

let's not turn this into tinfoil baspend kinda conspiracies - but if they can shift the "no mq" to MQ devs instead of baspends they probably think they can shift some of the blame

this is the part of the "cat and mouse" that we rely on the MQ developers who volunteer their time and expertise to this project called MacroQuest

i've said before and ill repeat it because i mean it - brainiac is top-tier levels of skills, experience, drive, and quality. He has years and years and years into this project, the tools that i'm guessing he's developed would take someone else years to replicate (if they kept at it).

When big changes are made you only get 1 comparison to figure it out - it isn't as easy as "every e is now an a, every f is now a b"

not me refreshing every 10min hoping for good news.. :worship:

You can join the discord channel for MQ & Redguides. You can read some awesome content, checkout the development, and learn a lot from those channels.

I personally enjoy reading the `Commits`

I would just wait patiently. Any time Brainiac gives to provide updates is time taken away from actual development cycles. Plus, I know as a developer, I hate it when clients start clamoring for daily updates on progress. It is very hard to provide meaningful updates when a lot of the time is spent researching how to solve various bug scenarios the client has no clue about what they actually consist of.

I can tell who the business people are here and who the developers are here lol

i'm not sure this has been covered before, but your comment caught me by suprise. The MQ Developers who Volunteer time ? where does the money we sub to go, other than site maintenance and what not. Not trying to offend anyone with my ignorant question, just curious.

this website and MQ are free, just be active and give redcents. So, I'm not sure what sub you're talking about :)

it has been i address it in the > What to expect on patchdays? < link

MacroQuest is open source - the mq compile itself is available on the macroquest github and/or discord
RedGuides is a site that has a bunch of *other stuff* and also pre-compiles for you (we actually also have a github of our "VeryVanilla" if you wanted to compile mostly everything from VV yourself

your RG sub goes to RedGuides and runs the site. RG is the largest contributor, and largest community for MQ - historically also been the largest funder / fundraiser for specific projects.

Thank you for your time and explanation, much appreciated.

WOOT!!! WOOT!!!

Excited Great Job GIF

Thanks @brainiac and @Sic for all your hard work and making EQ enjoyable for me.
just for clarity - the things i do in and around patches is lose sleep staying up to try and help address folks who can't read missed the posts, banners, bangs, notifications about downtime to try and keep RG a smooth experience - and be available in the rare times that brain needs someone for something menial.

brainiac is the one doing all the work on the patch itself - full credit to him

but you're welcome, i put in a lot

You are awesome for doing everything that you do, and keeping the community running smoothly, even if we get impatient at times.

Your communication abilities are TOP notch, and we, I feel, appreciate all that you do for us all.

Happy Well Done GIF by Coach Josh

For those that want just a taste of brainiacs pain, get the NSA decompiler program (free for use) and decompile some stuff and try to figure out what the program/dll you decompiled does.
