*** Highlights ***

Happy 8th Anniversary EverQuest!

On March 16, 2007, EverQuest will celebrate its 8th Anniversary.

To commemorate this landmark occasion, we have introduced dozens of Fabled Luclin NPCs and have brought back all the fabled fiends of years past. There is also a new scavenger hunt! Speak with Tyla Filinav in the Nexus if you are interested in helping her collect a few things.

The Anniversary Festivities will be available from March 16, 2007 through April 16, 2007.

Enjoy the Celebration!

*** Items ***

- Corrected focus effects on Solteris armor to the appropriate (raid level) focus effects.
- Stormweave Swatch and Nightmare Arachnid Swatch should now be able to be combined in the appropriate cultural containers as well as the various Tanaan containers. These will not be automatically learned unless you have already done these combines in a Tanaan Loom. If the combine was instead done in a portable kit you will need to experiment in order to "learn" the recipe.
- Corrected stats on the Gem of Judgment.
- Many issues with ranged weapons and their ability to hit a target have been fixed.
- Daggers and throwing axes as well as other projectile weapons now correctly SPIN as they are moving through the air!
- Added Bard Instrument Mods to Buccaneer and Praetorian Energeiac Plate Armor.
- Modified the Worn Iron Rallosian Relic charm to use elemental damage rather than bane damage.

*** Quests

- Expanded the range at which the Outer Portal Key Geza Zeku and Outer Portal Key Azia Zeku is received when you near the appropriate portal. You should no longer fail to get these keys if you accidentally zone. It is still advisable to not run as fast as you can to the teleporter.
- Ambushes will no longer spawn near the Thalassius nor Zhisza portals. Additionally there will no longer be an unstable portal energy at the Atiiki Portal.
- Removed the requirement to hand in the Sunstone Sun Charm at the end of the Sunstone Savages mission, as this item is needed later in the quest arc.
- Added some difficulty to the Warning Signs quest in Valdeholm.
- The NPCs that ambush players in Katta Castrum while doing some of the quests there will now be much more focused on those they intend to ambush. It will be harder to avoid the ambush, and the ambushers will mostly ignore those that they are not after.
- The Vergalid dragon raid should now function correctly. Roar of Insanity will now cast less often and has a shorter duration.
- The clockworks in the Nurtha raid now hit for slightly less damage.

*** Spells ***

- Rage of the Crystalwing is now increasing hate appropriately.
- Certain individuals have learned how to change the form of undead servants. They are willing to share that knowledge, for a price.
- The Eye of Zomm should no longer go faster than a speeding bullet in the water.

*** NPC ***

- Specters across the world of Norrath have taken on a more frightening and less blocky form.

*** Tradeskills ***

- The Dihydrous Oxide Glaciator now requires a shiny bundle of superconductive wires. This is made simply by cleansing the wires with celestial solvent.
- Doubled the drop rate of Sunshard Dust, Sunshard Pebble and Sunshard Ore.

*** Tasks ***

- The quest "Library Heist" is no longer repeatable.

*** Zones ***

- You can now bind in Katta Castrum.
- Dyn'leth has returned to his draconic form.
- Corrected problems with entering some keyed zones if you only had the key, not the associated keyring flag.
- Cleared the area around the Portal of War in Steppes. This should make zoning in there safer.
- Changed the zone in location for all Zhisza missions. You should now be safer when you enter the mission but be warned - you still need to be wary!

*** AA ***

- Reduced the reuse time on Intensity of the Resolute to 6 hours and the duration of the effect to 1 minute.

*** Miscellaneous ***

- Looting Twisted Harp Strings will now fully backflag you for Deathknell. You will no longer need to get the additional Inspiration.
- Higher rank disciplines should now correctly replace lower rank ones when characters learn them.

*** User Interface ***

- Added a scroll bar to the reward window.
- Changed the default size of the Options Window to ensure previously-added buttons are visible.
- Bazaar Search Window size was changed to avoid the need for resizing in order to access the "Find Items" button.
- Made some corrections to the power source slot.

* Changed *

EQUI_Animations.xml
EQUI_BazaarSearchWnd.xml
EQUI_GuildManagementWnd.xml
EQUI_HotButtonWnd.xml
EQUI_Inventory.xml
EQUI_LootWnd.xml
EQUI_OptionsWindow.xml
EQUI_RewardSelectionWnd.xml
EQUI_TaskWnd.xml

*** Previously Updated ***

- Removed the Pristine Granite Stone from Iceflow in Frostcrypt and moved the item to a new rare in the same zone.

jigs...please read the new rules...i need you to put the patch notes in the proper format since you are copy and pasting them from somewhere else...thanks

Oh FFS, they didn't change the AG factioning.

Daaaaaaaaamn Youuuuuuuuu Jiiigggssss!

One thing they do appear to have fucked with thats not listed, is bazaar ini files.

Went to throw up trader this morning, got the "you must price blah blah" message.. wtf says I, go in and look, looks like they are now listing everything in BZR_toon_server.ini by item ID rather than name.

Whether thats by design or a fuckup who knows. Makes updating pricing by hand a right prick thou!

Well, the the Necro pets look somewhat better now. Of course, after having been promised somethng along these lines for along time now, just about any change would be good.

I know I will get slaughtered for this, but oh welll...

I have searched all over the Macroquest2 forums for an answer and I foudn none there. Does anyone know how I correct an Incorrect Version error for Macroquest? I just started getting this today (assuming it is caued byt he patch). I'm new to this whole thing, so I apologize in advance if you all get this question every time a newb encounters a patch. Thanks in advance for helping me if you can.

MQ has to be updated everytime EQ is. They'll post the new one in this forum when they have it done :-)

The version of MQ you have will no longer work. Once the source code for MQ is updated, someone will use that source code to create and post an updated MQ distribution that you can download. There's nothing you can do in the meantime except be patient (...and play EQ sans MQ???)

OK, that's cool. I kinda figured it had somethng to do with the patch. No worries..I only started using MQ a couple of days ago, so I haven't totally lost my l33t EQ skills. :p

Its not about losing your EQ skills. You just get used to the functionality of MQ2 and playing EQ without it seems so frustrating. But I guess you havent gotten there yet either =)

Haven't had the chance. :p I just PL'd my toon up and started using the auto spell skill program last night. It lasted only a few hours before the patch occured. >:(

I have a few older programs...EZMacro and Xylybot. Neither of them seem to work with EQ anymore.

Usually I flame for someone going "OMFG MQ2 IS BROKE, SOMEONE FIX IT", but I like the way you wrote it. You admit to being new, you don't make demands, you at least attempted to search, and you say thanks in advance. I hope life blesses you immensely.

Has anyone heard any updates on when or if it will be possible to fix the MQ source? A friend who is on kinetix said there was some talk that SOE had finally done something to make MQ not workable. I do not know if this is just a rumor, or if there is any truth to it or not. I was also wondering if it had anything to do with the EQ dev posting they were 70% done with a system to stop the use of MQ.

Anyways, just some thoughts, as I have been watching over here and also at the MQ site, and it seemed pretty silent on both sites as to any news or types of updates on the progress they are / are not making. Usually you get a blip where the new structs are posted, then a little later the new source is posted, but haven't even seen that much yet.

Structs got changed, it's being worked on, sitting in the IRC channel I can see the progress but don't know how to tell how much is left.

I would give it a couple days.

Here are some basics:

MQ2 Developers actually do all the preliminary steps to get MQ2 working. The easiest and quickest way to check if MQ2 will be ready for you to download soon will be to check MQ2's actual website where they will post the MQ2.source code.

Right now it states (highlight in red the important part to find):

Download

MacroQuest is only available in source format. You will need a copy of Visual Studio (6.0 or .NET) to compile MacroQuest. Instructions and help are available in the forums. Use the search feature.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD WITHOUT READING THE Introduction to MQ2. IF YOU DO NOT READ, YOU FORFEIT YOUR PRIVILEDGE OF FREE SUPPORT. YOUR FIRST QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED WITHIN.

MQ2 Latest Source Zip Last updated: February 21 2007 18:15:58 (MQ2-20070221).
See changes.txt or the Intro thread for the latest feature updates. Changelog is also displayed at character select.

Warning: The use of MacroQuest violates the EverQuest EULA. Use MacroQuest at your own risk!

We know we've had a patch since 2/21/07 and we know MQ is not working at the moment so we can deduce that until this dev team finishes the reverse engineering they have to do, and posts a current source code, that noone will be compiling MQ2 as there is no up-to-date code available yet.

Thank you very much for that answer. I figured some people were working on it, just had not seen any progress reports to date. I guess I may have to drop into the IRC channel later, once I get some time off from work here :)

What I have found is Red is awesume at getting the complies out... if you see a new complie then its a done deal ... other wise I come for the show ... withdrawels make people do and say really funnty things but patience is what it takes.. and a lil less coffee .... personally I would love to see it before the double exp but till I get a couple gazillion more brain cells I am a follower...

Ok well since every one else is asking and others answering.....

Q: Is MQ broken

A: YES, check the MQ site to find out when the next release is out, and if you can not figure out how to check the MQ site then PLZ go spam MQ Forums....

My 2 cent any way, But seriously.....

Are we expecting another patch before tomorrow? I was thinking that they would probably patch again just before fabled are available, and if that’s the case, we probably looking at MQ being with held until then...

They shouldn't HAVE to patch to start spawning the fabled mobs, but that doesn't mean they won't patch for other reasons. The tribute bug might force a patch, and a few other things seem to be broken as well. My guild was taking Daosheen last night, and it despawned on them at 0pct, no body, no loot. Not sure if that is from the recent patch, but thats the first we've seen it happen.

As for making MQ "impossible" to use, I highly doubt it. Thats like saying a firewall is "hack-proof." MQ comes from quite a bit of reverse engineering, and as technology improves, the technology to fool that technology also improves.

hehe...the song of the truly desparate, the last refuge from unrelieved boredom.

aye...well ok I'm not *truly* desperate..just cursing every time I open my map looking for my raid and not seeing them, which led to a very interesting (accidental) wizard pull last night in Anguish... "Um, T, did you not see us go EAST instead of WEST?"...eh..um...and gave my standard response.. "Lag."

Yeah I'm jonesing hard but I'll make it... it's always worth waiting for :)

FMo2 the compiling-challenged...

Is there going to be double exp with this patch? I didn't see it in any of the patch notes. Starting to get excited if there is.

Actually EQ2 prevents the use of MQ2 type programs by utilizing many live patches... What they do is implement the patch and the next time you log in after that you recieve the new eqmain file... Alot of times nothing changes other than the eqmain so that would mean the MQ2 devs would have to post a new source just as often... Or slackers learn how to update it themselves.

That was happening to people on mobs that have an AE DD. Basically the mob was AE'ing itself when it got to 1-0% and killing itself... which means no body, no loot.

Not sure if thats what happened to you, but I'd say its likely.
