I like to manual pull, and with the INI I have found in the library, I have not found out how. Can someone tell me how to modify an INI to allow me to manual pull(after mobs in camp are dead), then once mob is in camp, to have it run assist role?

if you're talking about a tank char, then you can start the macro and set the char to the tank role by doing /mac kissassist tank. Then when you're ready to pull just make a hotkey that is /mqp which will pause the macro, go pull what you want and when you get back in camp hit the same key and it will unpause the macro which will allow the char to tank.

same strategy could be used on any other char, doesn't have to be a tank. For example a bard or chanter, hit the /mqp key to pause the macro go pull what you want and when you get back in camp hit the /mqp key again and it will resume macro and assist. If you want you can make two separate keys instead of a toggle key for pausing and that would be /mqp on and /mqp off

Can you link the ini you're using?

If the character isn't the tank, then target the tank and start the macro with:

/mac kissassist assist

what is stopping you from doing it?

I think they want to keep it manual control while having everything else automated, which kiss/etc don't do. cwtn does it, but you'd have to stay in mode 0 which isn't really the best for a zerker imho

Reading the OP's question, he stated that he wanted KA to assist and fight but he wanted to pull manually. Which the easiest way to accomplish that would be just pausing and unpausing the macro when pulling.

that's what I meant, sorry wording was vague.

My question is related to this, so thought I would just add on here. New to RG and only been playing with Very Vanilla and KA for a couple days.

I also want to drive the bard and have my bard manually pull, and the suggestion about using /mqp seems reasonable for most situations (single pulls). My question has to do with having multiple mobs in camp. In the normal setup, the tank is MA and the tank assists himself when starting KA. My understanding is that in this case, the tank will choose which mob to attack next, breaking mez if necessary.

Is there any way to set things up so that I (the bard) can choose which mob to attack next, since I am driving the bard?

Thanks

Set your bard as MA..

So I am trying that. When starting KA on the bard in Puller or Assist role, I can't target myself. KA says it's invalid. Kind of makes sense. So should bard be in Assist role, and be targeting the tank?

no need to MA your bard if your driving him. you want the rest (specifically the tank) to assist off you. Now, if your /MQP to pull, then going back to automation in camp, let the automation do its thing (tank picks next target).

In initial testing, it doesn't seem to work. Even if I target bard while starting KA on tank, it always sets tank as Main Assist. I can have other characters set to assist the bard though, but not sure what good that does.

It will make chars not assist until the bard actually engages, which means tank will die unless heals are coming...

Setting Bard as a pullertank MIGHT work to make the tank assist the bard, BUT, it'd be better to have the tank tank, cause that's their role in the group. Tanking. Not dps.

That's because when you start Kiss in tank or puller tank it automatically sets the role of that char to Main Assist. You could just start your tank in the assist role targeting your bard the same as all the other chars and it will then assist your bard. Then to get your tank char to hold aggro in the assist role, you would want to make sure the Aggro section is set up correctly. Additionally, you'd want to make sure it is assisting at 99%. The downside to this situation is that the tank will not break mez, you will have to break mez on your bard but then all the chars will jump on whatever your bard has targeted once they drop to at least 99%. You could try setting the tank char to assist at 100% but that can get wonky as anytime you target something that is in range your tank char would try to attack it.

Sounds like the tank in assist role could work. One of my motivations was that in some events, you want to change the target while an existing target is still alive. For most of my fighting so far (standard zone killing), using KA in its normal mode with tank as MA has been working well. I'm enjoying VV with KA.

I did set up another alternative that seems to work. I set up KA normally (tank as MA), and then create 2 hotbuttons on bard. One simply pauses macros:

/mqp on

After hitting that button, I choose a target with the bard. Then I hit the second button (using DanNet):

/pause 4, /dex ${Group.MainAssist} /assist ${Me}
/mqp off

It works in the guild hall to make tank (and then all other chars) switch targets. Haven't really had a chance to try it in a real fight. Don't know if the pause is necessary, just seemed like a good idea.

Thanks for the input everybody.
