Im new to the whole MQ2 thing. I've been using Mage for pet pulling. biggest issue i have is pet alot of the time doesnt pull mobs back in. he fights them there? any idea why?
More than likely you have your PetAttackDistance set to the default of 115 in your ini file. Lower that down to whatever your melee toons setting for "meleedistance" is and you will have better luck.
then open the ini file
Your MQ2Melee ini file is located in the root folder of your MQ2 compile. i.e. c:/macroquest2/povar_Bob.ini
I think there is a line for pet attack range - i have mine set to 25 or 30
petrange=[0-150] Will not engage pet until mob is within [x] range of your pet.
if your pulling with a spell - put your pet on guard back at the camp that way he isnt following you -
I pull with volley of many - super long distance on that spell -
I run 3-4 toons and have mage pet tank and pull
In the mage kiss ini - mage CampRadius is set to 30
the rest of the toons are set to 75
KA is likely to overrule mq2melee when it comes to pet attack range now that there is a petattackdistance setting in KA ini files. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling it's the case. For instance for melee if you do /meleedistance 200 and your mq2melee ini has a stickrange of 75 it's still going to attack at 200.
