Question - Mage as puller, merc as tank.. not working well

Have my caster group set up as follows:

Mage - Puller and MA at the moment - Wiz merc
Enc - Cleric merc
Wiz - Master looter - Tank merc

How do I get the mage to break mez when there are multiple mobs in camp?
I tried PullerPetTank but that didn't work so well. Pet followed puller and ended up fighting mobs too far from camp.
Every time I turned on "Guard" it would switch to "Follow" when the mage had a mob to bring back to camp. Pet would run out and attack, tank merc would run out to help. Both too far from camp.

I would like for the mage to pull, merc tank to tank, mage to break mez.
Can it be done?

I would try having the mage pullertank and have his earth pet up. Keep him as MA. If he cant take a hit or 2 before earth pet and merc tank take over then try the chanter marked as tank and MA. She might stay up fine with runes by the time the earth pet and merc tank jump in. I dont believe pets will wake mez. One problem I see is the wizard would need to be set to assist near 100% to get the merc tank active in a timely fashion to keep the squishy mage up which, as you know when a wizzy starts blasting early they usually get aggro pretty quick. Your earth pet though should tank as well as your merc tank, at least mine does if not better.
 
I think there is an option for pet to break mezz in the kiss ini, look under the pet section
