Question - MAcro help please - (1 Viewer)

Good morning, I was using my mage macro alld ay - I went threw and added several Rk. II spells. Most of the Rk. II actualy as i just got a bunch of spells. I reloaded macro and computer came back out and now my mage is just sitting still not attacking, no assisting not sending pet. Secondary my macro used to cast the cauldron every 30 minute it doe snot do that either but that stopped a while ago. can some one look at this and tell me what i screwed up please. thank you

Run the macro and use the /kisscheck command.

start kissassist with "/mac kissassist" like normal and when it's loaded and ready then use the slash command /kisscheck while KA is active.

BAh wth - it worked for one mob, casted self buffs, mods rods and attacked next mob he sitting still again

/kisscheck will list the spells it could not locate on your character. Fix the ones in error, if there are any. then run the macro again, other wise it is a different issue.

kisscheck tells you if you have bad syntax in your ini file posted above, please edit your post, highlight your ini and click the little hashtag button on the menu above it here on redguides so it will set it as code, MUCH easier for us to read that way....

ok, after each mob it does not start to atatck on next mob, when next mob in camp if i retype /mac kissassist it works for that mob. i am not gettign a macro end message but i have to retype after each mob

turn the buff section off and see if it attacks the 2nd mob.

in your .ini set

or start the mac and then type "/buffson"

I believe there's an issue with one of your buffs and the mac gets stuck there.

1) you appear to have duplicate lines for some items, but that may just be a copy/paste typo but if not, it may make for some errant behavior. Starting with a blank .ini may be the simplest to get you up and running.

2) you have the .ini role set as assist, which means that you either have to start the mac with /mac kissassist pullerpettank or have the MA/puller targeted and /mac kissassist to start up.

3) you got close with the "#" button, but instead of inserting the .ini and then pressing the "#" button, you press the "#" which inserts a line, the .ini goes between, like this (without the E that I added to make it show what the text looks like)

ok, since this started i switched macro's to another on the file list. This macro does same thing fights one mob perfectly then nothing, no error message it just stops. if i target leader and type /mac kissassist and it will again work for 1 mob. im thinking its a setting in eq i must have set. whats the odd that 2 separate macros are doing the same thing.

You go the wrong way.

Delete/copy your ini and start KissAssist while targeting your pet.
Stop the Macro.
Open the ini in an editor.
Add some basic stuff - Start with setting up your pet so that KA will summon your pet and giving him gear.

Add 1 Buff
Add 1 DPS Spell.

Setup your PullWith=Pet / MaxRadius=400

Type

/mac Kissassist Pullerpettank

See if it works.

Type /kisscheck if something goes wrong

If it works (use easy mobs). Add more buffs and DPS spells.´

Dont copy/paste inis from other people, just use them as ideas for your Ini.

1) delete kissassist.toonname.ini which is probably in the "Macros" folder

2) delete servername.toonname.ini which is likely in either a "Macroquest2" or "release" folder

3) start everquest and mq2.

4) in everquest target the toon you want the mage to assist (usually the group tank) and type /mac kissassist

5) watch as text goes by in the mq2 window.... when it is complete (blah blah assisting at 98% blah blah) exit everquest and mq2.

6) you should not have to make any changes to "servername.toonname.ini" to get KissAssist working.

7) locate the new Kissassist.Toonname.ini (should be in the macros folder), it should be effectively blank, no dps, no buffs, etc.

8) start with the buffs section: add 1 buff to the .ini, start everquest and mq2, start kissassist, did buff work? rejoice.

9) alt tab to .ini, add new buff, alt tab to eq and /mac kissassist (did both buffs work?)

10) repeat until buff section works.

11) repeat with dps section.

12) don't add buffs, burns, or dps more than the count starts when blank,

13) having duplicate lines is likely bad (i.e. two places that say "DPS1=Malo....")

I have learned basics of casting spells based on % - is there a way to add items like my boundless cauldron so it auto cast every 30 minutes?

sort of,

I had my mage stop casting at about 35%, and so I would set the cauldron as the last DPS spell with the % to cast just above the DPS skip value. It should click from the cauldron when it's available, however it might wait 20 seconds to inventory the item that is summoned.

I would follow that thread and let the mage summon when you're not actively playing and just work on getting the combat / buffs for Kissassist working for awhile first.
