Question - MA Tank does not always engage incoming mob

I'm using VV, EQBC, & Kissassist.

Tank is my MA. Group camps with tank. Ranger is my puller.

Often, the puller brings a mob, the tank engages & the group kills the mob.
On a good streak this can go for an hour or two without issue.

Sometimes, the puller brings back a mob & the tank just stands there and doesn't do anything.
Then things generally go from bad to worse.

Do anyone have any suggestions on how to make the MA stay frosty & not miss incoming mobs?

Make sure CampRadius and MeleeDistance are large enough so your tank will engage. Is it bringing it directly into your camp on top of your tank?

I had to make camp and melee larger and add ambush to Agro section (spell)|<|100|Ambush works on my toon but having a similar problem on my wifes

Puller is in same group? Tanks recognize aggro based on xtarget aggro and campradius setting.

Any pattern to the ignore? Like it's a certain type of mob or maybe a non-kos mob?

All 6 toons are in the same group.

Can you provide some examples of your increase camp, melee, and ambush settings look like?

I haven't noticed any patterns.
For examples, sometimes it will fail back to back, then the 3rd time it will start working like it should.
It does not appears to be related to a specific type of mob & kos/non kos.

This is my 110 SK general/melee settings related to camp/tank. For a pullertank, but he'll grab mobs if they walk in:
Code:
[General]
KissAssistVer=11.004
Role=PullerTank
CampRadius=45
CampRadiusExceed=300
ReturnToCamp=1

[Melee]
AssistAt=99
MeleeOn=1
FaceMobOn=1
MeleeDistance=75
StickHow=front
AutoFireOn=0
UseMQ2Melee=0
DismountDuringFights=0
TargetSwitchingOn=0

I don't use ambush on my tanks, but do on melee dps. It's a DPS tag that tells KA to try to use that DPS entry as the first item. Some abilities require you to be out-of-combat to use them. You could set something like this:
Code:
DPS1=Wounding Blade|100|Ambush

I see cotto was running in the Aggro section. I haven't tried that. Aggro watches for you to be above/below a certain threshold on aggro percentage. But if the mob isn't on your xtarget list, I don't think it would recognize it as an issue.

Post your tank's ini, so we can see if there is something else causing it to ignore mobs.

I’ll be more then happy to soon as I get home, won’t be back until late Sunday/early Monday.

Here is my INI (I haven't made any changes yet)
Maybe I will have better luck if I set my "CampRadius=45" & "AssistAt=99"
What would you suggest for an ambush setting?

Does this return to camp setting help? If you're running a mobile/chase type group then leave it =0.
Code:
[General]
ReturnToCamp=1

Is it when the Pally is buffing? My pally is a pullertank but I've noticed he does seem to get stuck when redoing buffs for longer than my SK or Warrior. Like he can have a 20 second pause where KA isn't updating anything in the window, then he exits the buff phase and goes back to pulling. I was suspicious it was Marr's Salvation which has a longer recast, so might be he was waiting to see if it would refresh for another cast. You could try removing that line:
Code:
Buffs2=NULL

Any chance the tank is getting a Divine Aura from healer? Cleric with Bestow DA in their [Heals] section?

I have a hotkey that that sets return to camp =1 one once I'm setup and ready to go.

You may be onto something with buffing!!
The first pull is always the the most sketchy (it's hit or miss). I usually need to intervene to get things started.
Once he's in steadily in combat he seems to do fine.
Given that, it's very possible that he 'sometimes' gets slow/stuck in buffing cycle after a med break or waiting for respawns.
This could explain the seemingly randomness on the time intervals on when it would fail.

I removed Marr's Salvation. We'll see how things go.
I'll also test it out with buffs off & see if that helps narrow things down.

The cleric or pally are not using their DAs.
I removed them earlier to remove that as a possibility.

I have had similar issues with my pally casting buffs when a mob is coming to camp as well. I changes this and he now engages quickly.

CastingInterruptOn=0

I seem to be having some initial success.
The Paly/tank seems to be more responsive after simplifying buff section as suggested & setting CastingInterruptOn=1.
This makes those first initial pulls, from buffing to combat, more reliable.
I'm going to continue testing, but I think this might do it.

I'd like to thank everyone for their inputs. Your help is greatly appreciated!

I had this today on my SK and it was because I had stickhow set to snaproll, as soon as I put front it started engaging again
