Tip - LS Group Task Lockout Exploit

I discovered this quite by accident and thought I'd share it. If you have a group task and immediately drop the task and re-request it upon completion you can skip the lockout one time each quest cycle.

For tasks like these two where you receive the lockout upon opening--you just need to make sure one person is out of the zone and ready to re-request. Sure that one person doesn't get the benefits of doing the task but it sure makes neck farming quicker when you can loot-scoot-redo quickly.

For tasks like these you just need to do the final hail, "/kickp t" then re-hail to get it again really quickly.

Why would you do this?
- 2x the XP for easily soloable GROUP missions. (Run your main and get everyone XP)
- 2x mission currency for when you need it on someone.
- 2x the chance for aug components & neck drops from group missions.

How much time do you have to do it?
- This really depends on server lag. Just go quickly and you should be fine.

Before you try make sure you're ready to loot (if applicable), the right person is Task Leader so they can kick, you have the person ready to re-request the mission, and you're not accidentally invis and therefore Shalowain won't talk to you (made that mistake before)

this is likely the kind of thing that they track, AND absolutely will take action against people exploiting.

so when there's a pikachu face in 3 months with "baspends" that say exploiting loot lockouts, don't be surprised if you did this.

there is a precedent for "baspends" for people doing this - TBL was a well known example, they ended up having a loot lock on top of the tasktimer in FF because of it

That's a valid concern with any exploit or ..... automated game play. Nonetheless, this is still very different from what people got in trouble for in TBL and the differences are what likely make it more safe than what was happening in that era.

Until I see some action taken against the blatant and often disruptive AFK play or until I see someone automating this method for auto-farming it's pretty low on my risk evaluation.

Exploits like this and AFK play are handled completely differently by DPG. They 100% go suspend every account they find that may have possibly exploited this, both MQ and non-MQ users. If you want proof just go look at any of the previous instances where this has been done. The latest one that I was around for was cactus mission in RoS. Raiding guilds were down several people because of it for a week.

Thanks Derp for pointing this out. This is one of those things I’d of kept to myself for the reasons others have pointed out. HA!

Its pretty cool but too risk.

yep, and everyone has their own risk tolerance.

once something is posted publicly or in the /general or forums/pm gossip stream mine would go way down =p
