Okay so I currently have a trial of LOTRO going on which expires in a few days. I thought I understood what I was going to do if I wanted to start playing the actual retail game...but after reading the following "help" (lol?) FAQ, I am entirely confused...

Here is the link: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=248979

Now I thought that if I wanted to upgrade I would just buy Shadows of Angmar, and then Mines of Moria.

Upon looking at the digital upgrade options, I realize that they REQUIRE you to sign up for a recurring subscription plan. I don't plan on doing a recurring subscription plan, as I favor game time cards from stores. Anyways, like I said, with digital upgrade there is no option to not chose a monthly plan.

Furthermore, I one of the questions mentioned buying Shadows of Angmar. The answer said that this would not work, and to be sure to buy Mines of Moria.

What?

Does that mean new players do not even need Shadows of Angmar to create a new account? You would only need Mines of Moria?

Since I know Mines of Moria comes with 30 days (from reading various topics on their forums...btw, nice that trial accounts can't make a thread or post on the HELP forums...), can I buy Mines of Moria retail, use the activation key on my turbine account and then I would have 30 days? Would I have to use my credit card to start a monthly plan?

Really my plan was to buy SoA (I guess MoM now...) and try out the first 30 days of full retail and then decide if I wanted to buy a time card. Can I just buy Mines of Moria and not enter my credit card and use the free 30 days?

Mines of Moria comes with Shadows of Angmar. So you're buying both.

Okay.

But if I buy Mines of Moria, which comes with 30 free days, do I still have to set up a recurring subscription with a credit card? Or is that only required if you digitally upgrade where turbine assumes you don't have a 60 day card.

Since Mines of Moria is like...7 bucks...I'd like to try the first 30 days full retail and then proceed with game cards if I want to continue playing.

I THINK you have to enter a CC number, but then you can cancel the subscription right away.

Will it instantly hit me up for a month, or will it wait till my 1 month from MoM is up...therefore I could just cancel the subscription and then go to time cards?
