I saw this in another thread for zerker and was wondering if someone had a good write up or a similar setup for warrior to get me going - I am using one from TBL and updated to newer disc's but I dont really understand what discs I should be stacking most of the time

Here's the defensive part, which I feel is the most important. When I get some more time, I'll try and add more details, then do aggro, ae aggro, and offensive sections.

WARRIOR DEFENSIVE

Starting off you're going to want to keep the following on cooldown/always on: Brace for Impact, Blade Guardian, Paragon Champion, Geometra (charm clickie), commanding voice (I've heard this stacks with shoulders and that it doesn't, so I still use),

Imperator's command, Shield Reflect (might as well throw it in the ini somewhere)

-Use Battle Leap for the self-buff once every time you zone (can use on eye of zomm)

MASH KEY - Knee Strike, Gut Punch, Shield Sunder, Call of Challenge, Throat Jab, Taunt (with hastened taunt you generally don't need to worry about availability + it has an aa proc)

I also keep Warlord's Resurgence + any other self-healing clicks on CD and they parse surprisingly high.

Mitigation Rotation - Keep these up on a 5 minute timer: I would run these abilities back-to-back at all times, unless you're trying to stack them for ultra tankability.

1. Finish the Fight (161,162) 3m/5m

2. Dissident Shielding (451) 60sec/5m

3. Guardian's Bravery (197) 48sec/5m (From the Warrior Anguish BP, must have)

4. Diplomatic Immunity (161,162) 12sec/5min (From anniversary quest)

General ability stacking:

Anything that shares a SPA will not stack with another ability of the same SPA. It will use the SPA which is most effective.

55-Enchanter runes and our synergy ability which procs off of shield sunder (use this all the time and max this aa if you haven't)

161-Spell Guard (absorb dmg)

162-Melee Guard (absorb dmg)

168-Defensive mitigation (Ultimate stand, Defensive proficiency from our weapon stance etc.)

197-Skill damage taken - (warlord's bravery and Guardian's bravery)

451-melee threshold guard (Dissident shielding, Roaring shield - bp click)

452-spell threshold guard (Diss shielding)

450-dot guard (enchanter spells, jann’s illusion)

You're going to run Courageous Defense in the combat ability window at all times unless something better is up like Ultimate stand.

Always use shield flash on incoming, but you can only use with DW/shield. It's 2 ticks frontal mitigation.

Generally, you will save these abilities for Named as they have longer CD:

1. Fortitude Disc (18 sec of invulnerability, almost always use of Furious because of BP focus)

2. Last Stand/Ultimate Stand (3m/10m30sec 45% melee mitigation)

3. Warrior's Rampart (melee threshold with hate mod) will use this up quickly

4. Roaring Shield (3 min/hit limit, melee threshold BP click

5. Mark of the Mage Hunter (absorb spell dmg)

6. Spire of the Warlord (90sec/7.5m, they’ve recently made this useful, I believe it uses 168 SPA primarily now)

7. Resplendent Glory (%increase to healing, can save or can use on CD)

8. Warlord's Bravery (SPA 197, recently got an upgrade, but still a 20min timer)

9. Warlord's Tenacity (Increase health by a lot, also functions as an emergency heal)

Stances: I've left out the Offensive mods because this is the defensive section

1. Defensive Prof II (Shield equipped. I rarely use unless I'm fighting a named or brand new to an expansion)

-Increase Shield Block 10%

-Increase proc rate 20%

-increase melee mitigation by 12% (168 SPA)

-Absorb melee damage: 5%, 2000 max per hit (162 SPA)

2. Dual-Wielding Prof II (Almost always use)

-Increase chance to parry by 40%

-Decrease chance to dodge by 30%

-Increase melee mitigation by 6% (168 SPA)

-Increase proc rate by 20%

Note on the Honed Wurmslayer from an earlier post:

I looked at a sample of 250 mobs in a RoS tier 1 zone with the wurmslayer, then replicated the same 250 mobs while swapping the wurmslayer with the tier 1 ToV war weapon.

Wurmslayer - Ave hit taken = 4269

Tier 1 ToV WAR Weapon - Ave hit taken = 4464

So, looks like the Wurmslayer still took off an additional 195 on every hit compared to the War weapon.

Also, my dps increased by 17k when the wurmslayer was replaced, obviously.

May I ask where that Zerker image is from? I'd like to have a read of that.

don't forget to have your rune augs in your sword(s) for that aoe agro and your prayer shawl for its rune proc equipped (if you have it)

I don't wish to derail too much here but I would like a quick summary of good aggro procs for weapons. I have a level 50 odd war at the moment using a BoC and Lammy. I know stun generates decent aggro, at least it did when I played back in the day, the problem is I mained a Wiz so a bit clueless on melee stuff. So stun is decent aggro, Is rune better?

@Sumatai with rune you’re getting AE aggro. For whatever the rune’s value, you’re getting double that in aggro for every mob.

Warriors are fairly limited with ae aggro abilities, and unfortunately the best blessed rune proc aug is the energizing attachment back in TDS.

Great writup! Is the Energizing Attachment what you use on your primary?

@batweed66 it definitely would be if I ever go back and do TDS progression. I think this is your 2nd best option from CoTF.....

Right now I’m using the Vel infused dmg aug, but obtaining one of those rune augs is on my list for sure.

@Sumatai im not sure if its better I like it personally better rune has a better aoe I think. heals are decent aoe also. so a heal and rune are "better" than a stun in my book... at 50 you can get a HoT and a heal aug in crescent reach second floor.

Rune is the way to go if you can get one. Rune = 2x the health value and you get that aggro even if you're full health. Heals/rune are AoE aggro of anything that has you on aggro list already.

Stun is very good single target.

If your war is 95+, when Hardcore events start this summer, try to camp the Chestplate of the Dark Flame in hardcore Mistmore. Its up in the tower, so a pain to get to, but easy camp for higher levels. The chest click gives your Warrior a 30 min to 1 hr buff that adds chance to proc Frightful Force on your melee swings. Free stun aggro & small DD for more aggro generation. It's good for war, but not for knights, their higher level self buffs don't stack.

Thanks for the explanation guys. I'll go weapon aug shopping when the servers come back up.

@eqtrader74 just looked at that proc and it says it’s level limited to 105. Is that true?

Once the server comes back up I'll check on some ToV mobs. I think you can't actually stun mobs over 105, so no pause in their dmg output. But the stun aggro and dmg still goes off.

Can't say agro is ever a problem on a 115 War with appropriate AA, to need agro augs as well.

A couple of Spike of Anger Axes with raw damage augs is my preference

Yeah no aggro issues for me, think im going to pop the relife or ext into them

@Forest Police I found this on another website, but it looks similar to the picture you posted.... Take it with a grain of salt though because it's from 2017.

This is all great but any chance to write it up as hotkeys? The above image is out of date and hard to read
