So here is a little way that I like to PowerLevel my groups up. it may take some time but its a good way.

YOU WILL NEED a higher HP toon to do this. Including Spikes to let mobs hit you while you AoE on the 10s. when you get to 60s they hit for a good chunk so good to have a little hp.

First off I take my Group of fresh level 2s out of tutorial and take them to CR and level them to about 7-15 depends on you.
Second I run to PoK and I Hail "Destra Kinmare" and Say "investigate" Right behind the Big Banker where the Vah Shir mercenaries are.
HERE IS THE TRICK Request the mission on your character that is gonna be AoEing then make sure he/she is the FIRST to zone in. (Say "Ready" to zone in)
Then go ahead and zone everyone else in.
Next take your 105 or whoever has the DS and drop from the group and run around with a merc and no gear on, run around pull the zone and run back to ZI making sure not to damage anyone of them. put all your gear back on and let your healer merc heal you and get agro.
As soon as that merc gets agro you then run around corner and nuke them AoE with say wizard or bard or whatever.
Then summon the DS and watch the exp go.
Rinse and Repeat.
Whenever you get to about 30s or 40s you could always bring a toon that is 5-10 levels higher to make the mobs go up in level but that is up to you. after like 15 levels or so the mobs will accumulate to your level. and if you wanna finish it you get a cool little pony familiar :) figured it was something I would share considering all of you wonderful people share a lot with me Thank you guys hopes this helps some people.

Then as soon as I get to lvl 75 I like to take them to grounds with my little group and let them level up to say 85 ish then I take them into to SL missions "Calling Phantasm" Great mission btw highly recommended.

There's also a macro that you can configure to automate this task for powerleveling purposes.

This is probably a dumb question, but why do you take your gear off? Thanks for the guide.

due to low level the mercenary wont heal a 105 at 100% health so I make sure when I throw it back on after being hit with it off. it lowers my HP down to 87s and then I can have my healer merc heal me so therefore they get agro.

Lamah, you need to be more specific on what you did not understand :)

It is a variation on Damage Shield leveling done inside POK instance.

The basics of this (get high level to aggro but no damage/low level does 1+ pt dmg, rest of dmg is via damage shield from high level) have stayed constant for 17 years.

The slight difference here is that aggro transfers to high level's merc via healing.

You do not have to do it this way, you can just use AOE aggro spells if your high level has them (Runes are great, Healing, SK AOE aggro spells, Bard slow songs, all of that stuff works)

Bard songs are much less effective than healing agro or runes. Best is SK AOE aggro spells (I load up 4 ae agro spells plus the AA for my PL'ing).

I use a druid for this. Here is why...

1) self DS
2) self heals which also keep the aggro off the lower toon who is AEing
3) if the low toon get aggro I can heal him
4) if the low toon dies, I can CoW him and rez him after the mobs are dead.
5) Cheetah run speed to keep the mobs from stunning as you pull

My druid can usually handle the whole zone up to level 67. Exp slows down around 65, so after that port all the babies to Undershore or something and finish them to 70 or 75 (whichever you need)

I use a war/mage combo to powerlevel everything. Warrior has a few ae taunts and once I get enough aggro, hit the ae with the low lvl toon a few time. Then I just slap on those crazy mage DS's, hit no time to bleed and sit down with the warrior, he won't stand up due to the dmg not getting through nttb and the mobs will 100% hit him. It's always fun to sit and just see them drop like flies especially at really low levels.

Something I do that only requires either druid or mage is use a merc. Put the merc on passive during the pulls, and pull the entire zone. When you get back to your camp spot, put the merc on reactive and DS it. The merc will self heal which usually holds aggro pretty well. When the mobs are about 50% (depending on how fast you are killing them) start hitting them all with the baby toon. A level 100 healer merc can handle the entire northeast or entire northwest of WoS (about 50 mobs) without an issue.

Also, Make an power level account that you keep for the purposes of PL other toons. Taking a bard along will make life easier. At level 2 they can AE an entire stash of mobs. When you're done, either delete the bard or just make another on the same account when it's time to PL again.

By the way, if you are using a DPS Caster you can target and nuke yourself to trigger merc heals. I say this from experience, and it wasn't necessarily on purpose...

I also use my Druid. I use self ds, group ds, 8 hit ds w/ cooldown, Aa's. My route is CR, Moors, CoM,PoInnovation,Crypt of Decay.

i just leveled a group of 4 from lvl 1-85 and currently working toward 92 in a matter of 4 days. it may be slow to some people but I actually played it instead of afk it. I went 1-5 in tutorial, 5-20 in CR 20-56 in the hatchling plan mission with druid ds, then I have a heroic SK and I did want razkles post about afk in dragon scale hills except I didn't afk I just swarm pulled from 56-70 then from 70-75 I went to loping planes and swarmed It was alittle quicker then from 75-where I'm at now I put in my group with usually is at morrells castle on the beach! and you can level their to 105 it will just take some time but I'm going for lvl 95 on all of them then gonna separate them and let them go on their own at the beach so I have 2 groups rollin. make sure you know your server and who goes where so you can go afk in the right spots, don't forget AFK TOOLS!!!

Kind of a necro bump, but I'll go with it!

p.s. if anyone is reading this nowadays, the above quoted item works, HOWEVER, cleric mercs started ripo'ing and actually periodically hitting mobs smacking them. This means if you're using a healer merc as described you're going to lose out on experience.

Was this an extremely recent change?

Like... maybe six months? There's a thread around here somewhere where this is discussed more in depth. Basically, someone was using the cleric merc method to PL and couldn't understand why they weren't getting more experience. When they looked more closely at the merc it was doing melee movements and actually hitting mobs periodically.

Hmm. It's the method I typically always use while PLing but I haven't PL'd in like a year or so. I'll have to remember this for the next time I go to PL

it stilled work you have to make sure the cleric mercs back is facing the pile of mobs and they wont riposite. it worked for me maybe lost exp on 1 or 2 mobs a pile?
