I’m just running an epic while I wait. I was trying to do the shaman pre-quest but it is turning out to be faster to actually do the 1.0. I guess it will depend what fear looks like but I think I can get an AoC so there will be no issues.

yep thats the dandy thing on test, if the static zone name isnt up, you can pop the instance using the AoC..

Any estimate on when Test server will be patched?

Why is it so slow to patch mq2 for test?

so I just noticed you two posted in the "testing posts area", in what i assume is a thought that it was for the test server. I went ahead and moved your replies to the Test Server Thread.

EQmule, one of the lead devs for MQ2, posted out a msg yesterday (which i updated this thread with) saying that updating test is still a work in progress at the moment due to the recent updates.

Once MQ2 is updated then RedGuides can rebuild it with all of the Very Vanilla flavoring, but we can't do that until MQ2 is updated.

Why is it so slow to patch mq2 for test?
Test patches changes offsets, memory data structures. mq2 devs have to manually find new offsets, decipher from compile code what the data structures looks like (not an easy task). When live is patched it is a matter of confirming that changes detected during test patch is the same/ That is reason why test is slow, live is faster on release.

Recently it sounds like each test patch there is some major changes being made to the client.

So I have to admit coming back to EQ and then VV a month ago I was a bit curious about the recent patches. I know two patches ago had major changes and after expansions they tend to start some of the big structure changes for the year but I was curious if if this is typical or not. I’m assuming we’ll get a few more patches l Ike this and then hopefully it will slow down until summer.

Just curious (not complaining) more than anything as I’ve been debating starting back up another group on Live, FV probably, if it’s typically 5 days or so in between.I could probably keep one group really up to date on FV during the downtime. I’ve been away from pc gaming for about 2 years so been trying to figure out what to do during downtime SC2 isn’t holding my interest. Might go back to MOBA played Heroes of Newerth back in the day not sure what to play in the downtime is all.

Typically Test patches just as quickly as Live (within 24 hours). Last two patches are unique situations.

An update for those interested...

eqmule (one of the lead devs for mq2) said possible that mq2 would be rebuilt today - and that would mean that RedGuides VeryVanilla (that's us) could be rebuilt after that.

you can read the above few posts in the thread and see that dbg has done some updates which has made additional work for the mq2 devs

That is very exciting news! What is the discord channel so I can keep up with what's happening.
Thank I appreciate all your help.

Don’t forget we can donate. I know it’s been a week and now with the live server patch coming to. From what it sounds like the Mule has his hands full. So let’s not complain but inspire Mule to stay motivated.

Yep one of reasons I'll just pay monthly to keep it running.

I will say its funny though how quickly you get used to it though. I can still run my groups without it but I fin don't like to play with out the Quality of Life features (nav/follow etc...)

So I know a lot is going on with the suspensions but shoudl we still see a patch for Test soon or were there a lot more changes in the live sync patch?

I'm a new MQ2 user and I play on test.

Is it typical to have such frequent long downtimes? This is at least the third lengthy downtime in recent weeks. That's totally fine, I'm not trying to complain, but I might re evaluate what server I play on, or how I play the game, if this is routine.

Well you’re going to get double the amount of patches if you play on Test. I would say turn around is 24-48 hours usually. Sometimes mule is working on some other stuff and it can take a few more days.

I know it’s disappointing but this too shall pass.
