Guide - Laurion’s Song Mission - Heroes are Forged! Updated !

Found a better way with no LEM's. Agro the boss where he spawns. Use your camp hotkey. Grab one of the two toons that got emoted and pause that toon. Now run that toon around the atrium while you burn the boss down. You will only eat one AoE instead of two. Makes it easy. If you want the achievement, yeah, make the hotkeys.

I dont think I can hit 6m dps with burns going. Guess I have more work todo.
image.png
not 125, or max aa, or with a glyph.. how can you NOT hit 6m? short parse cause mob ran out of HP's :shrug:

I find that my casters just can’t come close to melee team. Plus the down time to med every so often eats into killing time. All equally geared and max aa. This expansion they have just pulled ahead even more

Berserkers do have an insane burst damage on short fights, but may lose to other DPS on sustained damage if the fight is long. My burst damage with my team who just hit 125. Have not bought spells/skills yet (doing NOS hunter).

1702752759076.png
Tank has Raid gear. The rest has mostly NOS gear with tradeskill NOS armor and LS weapons (bought). This is with burst.

1702752829525.png
This is without burst.

where is the mq2nav.ini file?? i've looked thru all my files, tried the search button. it doesn't exist?

It is time to script this.. for everything after the slime, I do declare. A driver and their minions

How does this outline sound?

-- autofollow tank to start

-- main Lua

Code:
local function moving() while mq.TLO.Nav.Active() do mq.delay(1) end end

-- tank
-- wait until slime dead or count of spider > 0
-- wait until eggs, if tank has pet then send pet

Part 1

Code:
while mq.TLO.SpawnCount('a huge slime')() < 1 do
  mq.delay(1000)
end

while true do
  if mq.TLO.SpawnCount('a huge slime')() < 1 then break end
mq.delay(500)
end

Part 2

Code:
while true do
  -- Kill Eggs and Beat up Queen
  -- Pets
  if mq.TLO.SpawnCount('Queen of the Spiders')() < 1 then break end
mq.delay(500)
end
mq.cmd('/afollow off')

Part 3

Code:
while true do
    if mq.TLO.Spawn('Lich').Distance() > 99 then mq.cmd('/n spawn Lich')
moving()
end
    mq.delay(500)
    if mq.TLO.SpawnCount('Lich')() < 1 then break end
end

Part 4 - TBC

-- when lich dead or shalo spawn, n to shalo

-- secondary Lua

-- other toons

Code:
while mq.TLO.SpawnCount('a huge slime')() < 1 do
  mq.delay(1000)
end

while true do
  if mq.TLO.SpawnCount('a huge slime')() < 1 then break end
mq.delay(500)
end

Code:
while true do
  -- Kill Eggs and Beat up Queen
  -- Pets
  if mq.TLO.SpawnCount('Queen of the Spiders')() < 1 then break end
mq.delay(500)
end
mq.cmd('/afollow off')
Code:
while true do
    if mq.TLO.Spawn('Lich').Distance() > 99 then mq.cmd('/n spawn Lich') end
    mq.delay(500)
    if mq.TLO.SpawnCount('Lich')() < 1 then break end
end

-- shalo something
-- note avoidance while shalo alive?

This is a collab btw, or not..

The last LEM I saw has them run away and stay away, is there the possibility of looking for the event that the notes lose track and then PCs return to within 100-200 of Shalo?

This one returns them home to the center.

very good strat. worked for me easily as well... thanks for the information !

Got some Lua's I made for heros forge on shallowain, but you will need to import both of them into LEM- see below

-the secret to this working is to set your campradius on your melee and caster to 75
-before engaging the lich camp your toons by the forge
-engage the lich and use the assist key and burn him
-since the campradius is at 75 your toons will follow him around and he will go down quick
-when shallowain becomes active do not use come to me or chase during this part of the fight .. keep them on camp (assist) otherwise the Lua's will not work -
-camp has to be used before shallowain spawns because she emotes almost as soon as she spawns
-when the messages come up your toons will automatically go up to ledge and come back after 40 secs - just use flash and your NoS invul item if you have to - warrior can use fortitude to bridge this gap (had no issues as beast was healing my tank)
-just use burn and you are good to go
-have fun

bleargh, should we have an AIO that does spider/sacs lich and then notes? or is it not worth the effort?

If you can't beat down the 1st slime without burns, you should just pack it up..

just thought of it, can you hate step through the webs?

If you can't beat down the 1st slime without burns, you should just pack it up..

just thought of it, can you hate step through the webs?
Even if you did slip through webs it just ports you again. Only way you can stay in is if your inside when it spawns

My Lua for this is using some external libs, so I can't post it wholesale, but tips:

- Levitate is almost a requirement, as is NOT being shrunk. I have my Lua cast Group Perfected Lev and clicky the Horde Cube that casts Grow.

- You can have your pet classes auto-kill the eggs like this:

Lua:
local function handleEggs()
    if IAmPetClass() then
        -- see if egg is up
        local egg = mq.TLO.Spawn("npc egg").ID()
        if egg ~= nil and egg > 0 then
            -- send pets on eggs
            mq.cmd("/g Sending my pet on egg")
            mq.cmd("/target npc egg")
            mq.delay(1000)
            mq.cmd("/pet attack")

            -- wait for egg to die
            while mq.TLO.Spawn("npc egg").ID() ~= nil and mq.TLO.Spawn("npc egg").ID() > 0 do
                mq.cmd("/target npc egg")
                mq.delay(1000)
                mq.cmd("/pet attack")
            end
            mq.cmd("/g Egg is dead, resuming")
            mq.cmd("/boxr unpause")
        end
    end
end

- For the last portion against Shalowain himself, tank him right where the slime spawns. The AoE targets specific characters and slow-chases them, but they ALSO get a Debuff during that period called "Song of Echoes". You can watch for the debuff to appear, then have them run to the zonein (up by NPC) until it fades, then have them come back. This is how mine looks:

Lua:
local safeSpotYXZ = "568 -1317 327"
local debuffName = "Song of Echoes"

function IHaveBuff(buffName)
    local buffID = mq.TLO.Me.Buff(buffName).ID()
    if buffID ~= nil and buffID > 0 then
        return true
    end
    return false
end

local function handleAoEEvent()
    if IHaveBuff(debuffName) then
        -- we have the debuff, run to safe spot
        mq.cmd("/g I have the AOE debuff, running to safe spot")
        mq.cmd("/boxr pause")
        mq.delay(50)
        mq.cmdf("/nav locyxz %s", safeSpotYXZ)

        while IHaveBuff(debuffName) do
            mq.delay(1000)
        end
        mq.cmd("/g AOE debuff is gone, resuming")
        mq.cmd("/boxr unpause")
    end
end

With this approach, I'm yet to fail the event. If you start burns on Lich, you can roll them into Shalowain enough that I almost always only get one AoE event. You will occasionally also get the achievement for not being hit by the AoE depending on who gets called when, but most of the time, at least one box will eat a single AoE shot. Also if your tank is a warrior, you will probably randomly have a bad day if the cleric gets the debuff. I dunno what the solution to that problem is other than playing a knight :)

For those with gimpy DPS or running melee toons who end up with a mummy, I slow roll Lich and then burn mummy when it pops and use the rest of the burn to finish Lich. Works for me reliably to then deal with Shalowein without having a mummy up. I run a cleric AND shaman so my DPS isn't the greatest.

I killed the mummy and got another mummy, pfft

I usually get Lich to 10-40% before the first mummy. I burn the mummy and finish Lich before the second mummy pops. As far as I know mummy's will spawn forever. I lost my healer on Lich, didn't have a campfire set, and had to run the stupid toon the whole way back. By the time I got the healer back, buffed, and with some mana, I had killed at least 5 mummies.

Even just smacking with SK, I dont think I have seen more than a second mummy. So might be capped at 2
Nope I can confirm as many as 4 mummies can spawn and be up at once. I think that run I killed 6 or 7
I was screwing around with something else at the time so it didnt much matter how many spawned.

Here's what I use with my all melee group to handle eggs. I tank the spider in the lower nw room, and send my melee dps to the other 3 rooms

Tank spider in the lower NW Room. Before starting mission start the Lua. Lua will automatically exit when you exit the zone.

/dex melee1 /Lua run ls-heros-eggs.Lua nw2
/dex melee2 /Lua run ls-heros-eggs.Lua se
/dex melee3 /Lua run s-heros-eggs.Lua se2

At least for me, the 2nd toon called out for echos always gets the debuff a 2nd time on fade. I nav that one to elmara to wait it out.
Code:
    ...
    while mq.TLO.Me.FindBuff('name "Song of Echoes"')()=='Song of Echoes' do
        mq.delay(1000)
        debug('waiting for echo fade')
    end
    mq.cmd.nav(run[side][2])
    while mq.TLO.Navigation.Active() do mq.delay(100) end
    if mq.TLO.Me.FindBuff('name "Song of Echoes"')()=='Song of Echoes' then
        mq.cmd('/nav spawn Elmara')
    end
    while mq.TLO.Me.FindBuff('name "Song of Echoes"')()=='Song of Echoes' do
        mq.delay(1000)
        debug('waiting for echo2 fade')
    end
    ...

After a few dozen tries, a member change (MNK to MAG) I managed to defeat her. I used a conjunction of few tactics mentioned in this forum.
The original posters tactic of camping your toon with high camp range. Sending pets for eggs. For lich I manually moved the tank and swapped target to Shalowain at around 5%, so that I make sure I am the one aggroing the boss.
I had Sic's LEM loaded, but also had hotkeys of hiding of this original poster. Just in case. Not sure which worked but I did get the soundproof achievement. Missed the spider achievement cause I forgot to target the egg on the 4th warp.
Don't know what worked, the hide hotkey or the LEM which is a little bothersome. Will probably know on the next try.

Would do a few more times when able to see if I cam manage this event a little cleaner. I had on one occation one of the mob around the zone aggroing me for some reason...

nice! this mission definitely gets easier when you're 125 and have done it a few times

well... i cannot say that this is an easy one. group with cle and shm and pretty low dps though all are 125 and almost all aa. i even get a blob add. attacking egg with pets worked on one, but not for the rest. and lich didn't get down so far - with or without burn.

I did this when I was 121 with a cleric and Shammy in the group. I am raid gear, so I am sure that helps the most.
This has been farm mode since I down it with my hot buttons. I wrote the LEM so I didn't have to use the buttons I am lazy, haha.

The buttons are great for getting echos, the only time I use it now.
The eggs are super easy, with Necro and Mage with NoS pet earing making it easy.

FYI, I have over 10,000 currency from the missions and only 4 Necks dropped.

I've had no problems winning this mission, but I don't have the achievements. My problem, along with control (work in progress), is mainly dps. It's been easy enough to just tank through any ae's and ignore mummies.

But watching videos like Sic's and others, I see the vast gulf of dps difference between their teams and mine. I still can't figure out why the big difference. My normal group for this is sk/shm/brd/mag/rog/cleric. But I've also done it with just the shm healing and swapping in a bst. I've also done sk/shm/brd/rog/rog/bst. I'm still 70s or so on the slime.

I think 2% chance to crit, 250 HP , 3% of STA, extra buff slot, increase spell resist caps, + 200 end + 200 mana.
Some of my new this year characters may not have it, but my older ones have them all. From the threads on this, there's plenty of people who struggle with hitting max dps. Maybe If I had finely tuned custom ini's rather than the plugins I'd do better. But seeing videos of people making the mobs just disappear, small tweaks wont make up the difference.

Some may use glyphs and have intensity of the resolute ready to go.. they prolly got all or most of the Hero AAs too..

Well did a few more tries and have more failures than success using any combination of LEM and macros. Even the initial bard DA fails since everyone is all over the place and probably is not in range of the buff. The fail is almos talways the first emotes. what I can try is to quickly swap to the emoted character and just pause and move away. Also there is this annoying 350k AOE that happens quite often which also I believe is the culprid of the wipes.

Edit: NM I now re-watched sic's kill video and followed it through. Basically you want your chars always on chase mode (Mode 2). I left them on Mode 1 for the entire event which I think what it was causing the ping pong effect of chars moving up n down. I need to do it a few more times and if all the future encounters are won without issue, then yes this is probably the best way.

Spiders: Since 2 pet class and 2 more pets (SHM and SK) no issue. Lich? This teleporting ... thing is annoying but sic's hotkey does the trick mostly. Although sometimes I have to hit burn like 20% of his health. But that was on previous tries before this 3rd kill.
