Tip - Kill yourself to get better AA exp!

I had previously mentioned when RoS came out that you should do AA's by level starting at 106 instead of leveling all the way to 110 since EoK mobs start conning light blue around 108, I learned this the hard way on my main toon at the start of RoS, and mentioned the issue around the time.

What I forgot to mention in that earlier thread, is how to get AA's slightly quicker at 110.

This won't impact you if you are hunting in RoS, so ignore this tip if so. But, if you are leveling up in EoK this will impact your leveling.

You just hit 110, so far you have max'd out all your AA's up to 109, and still have 110 level AA's to do. Do the following to increase rate of getting your last leg of AA's done to max:

1)delevel yourself to 99% into 109

2) exp till you hit 220 AA's into 109

3) level to 110, and train the 220 AA's

4) repeat step 1-3

Of course you can do this, for all levels, but you get the most bang at levels 108-110 on exp'ing AA's faster. There won't be much difference in exp from a dark blue thats 4 levels below you to 3 levels below you, but there is significant exp difference between a light blue and dark blue exp gains.

Seems like a lot of work, but definitely useful! Thanks!

Not to hard to go from 0% in 110 to 99% in 109. Like 10 secs of a level 100-110 level mob beating on you to kill your toon, should do the trick. As long as you use mq2aaspend and 100% in AA starting at level 105, you should always end up being 99% in each level backwards if you die at any point. I did it this way for alts from 106 to 110. Always end up with 99% in level cause of death, then it maxes aa's again before you relevel. The trick is to use mq2aaspend.

Oh, I know, but I also don't have a toon that isn't max level 105 or 110. I contemplated doing what you say you do, but it pisses me off too much if I die and suddenly can't cast the appropriate spells for a mob or three. Because of that, I always let myself get partially through a level before switching back to 100% AA. But to each his own... if I didn't do so much of my experience grinding AFK or semi-AFK this would be particularly useful.

If its for your main toon, yah casting spells is going to be an issue, but I usually never make macro ini's or buy spells/aa's till I'm max level and AA'd on the toon, I'm usually using spells from the previous expansion till I'm max'd out. Nothing worse than redoing your ini over and over again every level, I just let them sponge the exp in group. Of course thats not going to work with your raiding toon, since you'll want the spells immediately.

Raiding? haha... do people still do that? Is the e-peen still being measured?

Most players know this but some do not or forget to use it...

On spells that you want to use at certain levels...........

Every change you make to your spell lineup save as a different spell set.
Levels would be easy to name and recall. Spell set "109" would be your go to set at that level.
"109 A", B,etc... if you had multiple sets at the same level.
You can further refine by simple additional sub categories... "109 Raid", "109 Support",...heal, tank, solo, group, Look_prettty, etc,,,

To "load, save or delete" that spell set right click the spellbook icon on the "Spells" bar... where your spell gemstones are.

Does anyone know if you can take spellsets from one toon and use them with a different toon? If you can how is it done?

As always,
Playbetter

I haven't tried moving a spellset from character to character, but they are saved in your main EQ folder under "Name_server.ini" The spellset info looks something like this:
Rich (BB code):
[SpellLoadouts]
SpellLoadout1.inuse=1
SpellLoadout1.name=quickbuffs
SpellLoadout1.slot1=43781
SpellLoadout1.slot2=43001
SpellLoadout1.slot3=43202
.....

Along with your hot bars and such. So if you are moving them to a similar lvl/aa toon I think they'd just work.

---

I'm trying this de-level strat out this evening. I had a PL toon's krono run out and he switched to regular xp for awhile before I noticed, so his AA's have slowed way down.

I do /aaspend brute on, as well as 100% into AA exp turned on. With those 2 set, you always end up 99% into the previous level when you die, so its not much of a process doing this, I'm not sitting there actively trying to delevel myself as my toons wipe at some point anyways due to a bad pull or wiping to a namer.
