Question - KA Druid Healing

Id like to get some different points of view on a 6th toon for my box group . Currently i run lvl 105 Warrior , Enchanter , Cleric , Wizard , Wizard and id like to replace my 105 Magician with 2nd Healer.

Im pretty sure Razkle would advise " WIZ WIZ WIZ " and its hard to beat that logic considering i use 2 wizards now but i find myself more and more often leaving the Magician out of grp and just running a merc healer.

Right now im considering either a Druid or another Cleric ( because autocleric2.0 just rocks ) , but what id like to know for the few that do run Druids

1) How much more dps could i would i get running Group Black Wolf and the Druid Fire aura ?

2) Would a Druid using KA patch healing heal any better then a J5 healer merc ?

If you need another healer you need to beef up your tank
 
1a. spirit of black wolf is short duration 2m buff with 10m recast timer. increases chance to crit, increases crit damage and decrease mana cost... but only for 2 of every 10 minutes of the time, I haven't really pursued testing how useful this is or if AA's that extend buffs apply.

1b. druid wildspark aura adds damage to any fire based spell cast. My 100 level druid adds 2691 damage to every fire spell my 100 wizard casts, on occasion it will add more then once, while checking tonight I saw one spell get damage added 3x.

2. Properly setup, most definitely. I use to custom macro for my group so can't help a whole lot with kiss setup, but I know my druid is much better healer then merc.

other benefits -
ports... ok you have wizards for that, but consider teleport bind. I love having one caster bind near camp, another bind near vender...
buffage -
strength adds damage to melee
skin with cleric symbol adds greater hit points and mana reg
DS while not quite as good as mage, it's still pretty awesome
regen reduces tank damage, not a lot but every bit counts
combat buffs, DS spikes and reptile skin, add to melee dps

druids while not particularly great at any one thing, add so many different things


Someone made a post about redundancy in your group. Can't find it just now, but it was very compiling. a back-up healer is very nice should your cleric decide to take a break at the wrong time.


Sometimes I wish MQ2 was a bit less human like when comes to going AFK without informing the rest of the group.... Tank forgets to tank, healer forgets to heal, puller forgets to pull... bah
 
i /agree with maskoi, tank is ur bread cleric is the butter, if they dont work well none of the others will. my tank is my focus he cant get it done (to my specifics) unless he is the best i can get him.
 
For group content my tank is pretty much set right now. With discs and just buffs from cleric running he has 152k hp & 14,250 ac which is not bad for being on a server with 0 raid guilds . Currently he wears all TBM T2 with a highwater BP and has 18 ea. 42 - 60 AC type 7 augs . This is the same tank i used with 1 cleric to do TDS progression up to Arx with .

The main reason i was asking about the Druid abilities as a potential 2nd healer was that i am planning to do PoW named farming as well i plan to join another 6boxer for some CTOV runs and with a 3rd 6boxer eventually for raid content in HoT and upwards.
 
I think if there was an MQ2AFDruid, you'd have a druid bot that could heal as well as a healer merc while DPSing as well as a caster merc. Or blow either out of the water if it only had to do one or the other, while providing a whole lot of aDPS to your whole group, not to mention some ports here and there. AND!!! Foraging. I think that's pretty useful. My warrior is well geared as group geared gets...ok, maybe still @1.4523% improvement to work on, before EoK., but there are times that it was good I always run a secondary healer. Sure, DPS and kill rate not as good as running my third wizard instead of the druid, but I just play EQ as a game. And I'm happy the group didn't wipe and didn't even notice the kill rate is a little slower.
 
I been doing wiz wiz beast and wiz wiz zerker lately....
 
Druids do some awesome dps...
Both are same level with similar equipment in an easy camp.
Side note - cleric died sometime last night and druid kept the rest of the party alive.
