Question - Is KissAssist overkill for me?

Hi everyone,

I'm getting back into Everquest and subbed here again to grab MQ2 (compiled) and KissAssist. My question however is this. Is KissAssist overkill for what I want?

For example, if I want to create custom macros that do things like sit everyone down, tell everyone to follow me, or have one person cast levitate on the entire group, am I creating custom macros for this or is KissAssist setup in a way that I'm just leveraging it to do this, using built-in commands?

Second question, is it flexible enough to accomodate changing things like casting while moving? For example, I'm not sure what default behavior is but if KissAssist defaults to NOT casting while moving, and say I wanted to change that so if someone needs a heal, the cleric stops and heals, then resumes autofollow, is that something I'd have to script manually?

Basically I'm wondering what I'm getting into here. Is it an automated package that has little room for me to tweak? Or would you say it's fully configurable and all of these little nuances have already been thought of?

Thanks folks!

For the first part you dont use macros, but the plugin mq2eqbc

Kiss will stop the char and heal if needed.

In your example above, what if I don't want Kiss to stop the character and heal? That's precisely what I'm wondering... is that something I can adjust or are those types of things hard coded in?

The whole "casting while moving" throws me off , i assume you worried that kiss is set up that you can only handle stationary camps ?
Before you even can use Kiss you will need set up if and what buffs you want to use, what heals and at what health % you want to use , what Spells and at what target health % you want to cast.
There are also more options you can change but there is enough info on the site to read about.
Anyway in regards if you are stuck being stationary no you can set it up so you can roam.
You also always have a option to pause a macro with a command, which will stop doing anything unless u give the command again.

To keep my toons with me while driving my main toon I was able to modify my *.ini files for ReturnToCamp and Chaseassist to "0" Example below.

Rich (BB code):
[General]
KissAssistVer=8.4.2
Role=Assist
CampRadius=55
CampRadiusExceed=75
ReturnToCamp=0
ChaseAssist=0

Should be
ChaseAssist=1

Unless you have no melee chars and the rest of the chars on stick.

Furthermore you can do this with a hotkey from your main if you chose to use eqbc keeping all mq commands out of the standard windows. They respond nearly instantaneous

Follow me hotkey
Rich (BB code):
/bct charname //chaseon

Stop follow
Rich (BB code):
/bct charname //chaseoff
and the likeness of commands
Rich (BB code):
/camphere
ect

coming from the guy why put 24 toons in a raid to farm brother island so everything died in 2-3 seconds, there is not such thing as overkill! There is only success or failure... success is way sweeter!
