InvisDisplay - - little onscreen invis display for your group

This replaces my mq2hud "Invis Display". this is intended to work almost like a wow "weak aura".

it only displays when someone IS invis - it does not display otherwise

At a glance i can see, on screen, that someone is invis

this means if my bst broke invis or didn't get it for some reason I would see that the bst was missing

Sic, love the idea. I have a small issue and possible suggestion. I have it running, but I cannot find it. I moved windows and such to look for it, but not sure where its hiding at. I can turn on and off both switches for Anon and for lock, but I still cannot find it. Using it with a 6 man group, Si figured it should show easily. Ok my suggestion/request, Can you add in a /invisdisplay reset so it will make the little window appear dead center of your screen and force the user to place and lock it (if they wish).

ok, well duh.... no wonder I could not find the window, I had noone invis. 🤡

When moving around, once a while one of my toons get in trouble, because invis isn't anymore active for whatever reason.
Seems I am not the only one with such experiences :)
Made it directly to my "startup"-hotbutton. Thank you for shareing this nice gadget.

Just add this to an in-game cfg like the faq mentions. No hotkey needed
 
This is one of the QoL tools that I really needed. I strain a bit to read the output when I do a status check on my crew. With having the toons listed on my screen, this will offer a bit of relief. Several times I have received a beat down because I engaged and my healer was invisible. Thank you :angel:
 
I really like it, any way to get it to show whether you have reg invis and/or IVU on too? I like to double invis when traveling as a group, but a little bit of lag and one char can be either IVU or Invis but not both... leading to them getting jumped as I blithely walk by some undead or the like. Being able to see at a glance if double-invis completely worked could be a nice addition.

Either way - really like it, it's 'quiet' but useful!

I know nothing about code. I just don't see anything in the Lua file referring to loc.

no you can't adjust the font at this time.

the location should be saving - are you sure you're unlocking, moving it to where you want it, and then locking it again? there isn't anything in the Lua or any "regular" settings file, like an ini you'd be used to that stores that information.

unless you're resetting your imgui settings (which would reset all your imgui locations), it will be saved in that spot

I wouldn't know what to even look for that would possible reset the gui.
i'm using /invisdisplay unlock I grab window and place then /invisdisplay lock

Edit: Signed in this morning and it is saved. I have no idea why it wasn't working last night.

I this loaded on my sk. The color does change in the HUD, invis VS Undead, and works as intended (no invis, the toons name doesn't show up). I noticed today that if someone in my party loses one or was out of range when I cast ITU - the whole group still shows up in Green...

Does everyone need to have the plug in loaded for it to work?

This is awesome but it appears to break invis casting on entropy macro. /invis macro command won't fire with this running. any ideas?

i have no idea what you're asking. this display does not cast anything.

it does not cast invis or any other spell

are you saying entropy binds /invis to something?

the bind i create is "/invisdisplay" specifically

yes entropy binds /invis
 
im not binding "invis" im binding /invisdisplay (as i mentioned), im not sure there should be a conflict, but if there is, it isn't something that invisdisplay is doing directly, nor something that i would be able to work around

it appears > MQ has an Issue open related < which is definitely poopy :(
so if i change /invis to /invis1 should work? will try it and see
 
it sounds like that should work as invis1 wouldn't be a sub-string match for invisdisplay
 
I cannot believe I never used this until just now. I was using boxhud, but it didn't give a good indicator out of the gate for IVU. Never worried about it with bard, but now I am running CLR/ENC/MAGx2 and the timing can be tricky. Thanks for this resource!
 
After update, it seems to only display the name of the toon I am on as opposed to the whole group, even though all group members show dbl invis with /status invis. I'm sure I am doing something wrong, but not sure what. Any idea?

Update, I saw a couple group names blink pink and blue right when I dbl cast, but they disappear. It also does not seem to want to lock in the place I put it. I unlock, move, then lock.

For what it's worth, I am using IsBoxer with the latest development build 6933. That may be causing issues and not your Lua =)
 
I am late to the party but please add me to the "me to list." :)

For reference, like mentioned by others, the toon I am on and running the Lua shows in green but the other group members do not show up at all. When manually switching to each individual toon, each has double invis.

Same issue here Sic. It's not because of IsBoxer. I don't use it. Using CWTN plugins and Kissassist and Next

there is actually a much much larger issue with MQ atm that basically makes invisdisplay useless =p and i can't do an actual proper fix until that is fixed

but yup, i know there are issues.

I'll probably submit the update that *would* work if the listed issue above was resolved, but it still doesn't *actually* work as intended until that is corrected
 
so talking with brain, we actually *can't* get what type of invis other toons have. we can see they are invis (which is why there were no issues for a while until i added the different colors for what invis type)

so i guess i will be making this use dannet :(

No rush. This is a nice quality of life Lua but I would imagine, and rightly so, low on the priority list.

3: CWTN plug-in support
4: InvisDisplay Lua

How does switching to Dannet change functionality to work compared to current?
 
thanks for the update, it saves my toons life, when its working as intended.
I can't count how many times I have started running around with my crew, just to notice that for whatever reason one of them lost invis, got aggro and is about to die.
Since I started to use this addon, those mishaps have been easy avoidable.

Update - Please read

It turns out that EQ/MQ does not actually allow us to just see *what* type of invis our group member has, just that they HAVE invis.

this update will retain the functionality to display different colors depending on the type of invis that the character you're viewing has - but it will only display "green" for your group members if they are invis - it will not differentiate between types of invis.

I *may* add dannet functionality to this so we can query that, but i wanted to avoid that
