Idea - I'd like to host an EMU server in 2025 for Red Guides Users

I'd really like to host an EMU server in 2025 for Red Guides Users. Some place that was friendly to the programs we create and use. My contribution would be paying for the professional hosting. If anyone is experienced in populating EMU servers. Obviously I want to make this the best experience possible hence the professional hosting. If anyone has anything to add or offer In terms of experience. My goal is to find and hire the server bank by mid January. With hopefully as much helpful input as I can get.

RG is happy to encourage users to use cool EMUs - there are a bunch and we (RG, and myself, sic) would love to see more! - but as stated all sorts of places, RG currently has no intent on running or managing an EMU. RG currently has no intent on it being a "RG Specific" server or anything like that.

RG humbly requests not using "RG/Red Guides" in advertising of the server to avoid any confusion - but having a server folks using MQ/VeryVanilla is great!

And unfortunately with the recent nonsense, I just need to remind folks that RG is not anyone's personal advertising vector - don't just slide up in RG, start msg'ing users unsolicited advertisements so you can sell your sub-par tokens and then get bent out of shit when RG mod/admin team try and help you help yourself. There are plenty of ways to be a valued community member and provide avenues for folks to check out different things you might offer, but scummy low effort attempts won't be tolerated

The only way this is possible would be if someone got the server side database for distribution, which is unlikely to happen. Easy enough to move client files around and add zones to an Emu. Harder to program a new client, and database side like NPCs, patching, quests etc are hosted server side. So emu has to hand build all of those. At the rate emu is going, understandably so due to the challenges, seeing LS on Emu maybe likely in 2075 or so.

Rumor going around that up to LS was leaked back in Apr, and maybe some new-ish EMUs in the pipe..

I think you’re thinking about this all wrong. There is no leak. There’s the potential for a new client but that does not generate new content out of thin air.

Word on the street is that they have a 64 bit client that can log in and not much more at this point.
