"has failed to take any serious measure against protecting their user-base against upcoming changes to the EverQuest servers, or attempt to make anti-detection methods public"

This is a portion of the post made by Turk in his answering the public post. The latter portion is the part im most curious about.. It hints that there is some sort of anti-detection method that is being kept private. My question is to both turk and or the RG seniors who run the site..

What did he mean by the above statement?

It means that what if you are smart enough, you'll find the way to, not worry about SOE's detection.

perhaps i wasnt clear enough ...

"or attempt to make anti-detection methods public"

This implies that there is a form of anti detection being kept PRIVATE or known about and not used by the people who run the site.. im asking if this is the case.

No, not by anyone who is an admin or owner that I know of.

Sony stops the strats, we find ways around it, they find new ways to stop them, we find new ways around them, ad infinitum. People get banned, people get unbanned, then banned again.

Turk is right, we've been hiding the ultimate way around the above problem. I didn't want to let this out, but now you know too much. Here it is:

Be careful. If you don't have an account to test shit on, then don't use anything but vanilla mq2 and a few macros until at LEAST 1 or 2 weeks after the latest patch. Read the Q&A and General forums, get an idea for what's safe and what's not from people who do have test accounts.

There is no private forum here that is keeping detection methods off the public boards. I might just have to see about spamming sony's server with delta packets saying i was here, here, here, etc at certain distances until it hits the point you warp to. but thats just an idea for the serverside warp detection that they made.. still thinking of ideas!

That is what i was thinking. It plays catch up. It would be hard if you warp to a mob to kill it cause the server would think your running there. But it would be safer as far as detection. Sending packets while zoneing ect. That is smart sid

Some refer to this as the circle of life.

How about we just make a plugin to modify all movement packet deltas to 0 lol

Wondering...when you warp, the packet states loc xxx to loc xxx, when run from point a to point b how many of those point are sent as packets? how much of your movement is logged?? Just wondering any one know?

Also what is the RG group thought on warping...has there been more of the log in and your banned, or GM busting folks or are people warping like they used to??

I have been warping like crazy, afk xping, ghostkilling everything in site on 7 accounts since tss went live and not a peep yet from gm, or sony.

I've been doing a little testing on a crash-dummy account. I have been /fading non-stop for hours.

Here's what I’m doing
The Setup
1) A low level melee in an unpopulated zone.
2) A point in the center of the zone nowhere near the succor point.

I thought this would throw up a huge red flag.
1) Zoning without a spell being cast or dieing.
2) Appearing repeatedly at a spawn point that was neither my bind spot nor the succor location.
3) Repeated reentry into the same zone.

So far, it's still running which make me wonder about Sony's logs and parsing methods. It would make sense to me that, based on the size of the logs, Sony may parse only a small sample.

Sort of like speeding, if you speed often enough the likelihood you will get caught goes up. Those with "good luck" may never get caught; those with "bad luck" could get busted the first time they do it. Sony may also set a running count for a particular account that tabulates variance detected in the logs. Once you reach a threshold you get whacked.

My point is that the banning appears to be very random. If Sony had truly implemented an automated log scan & ban, then you would be banned the very first time you /warp, /fade, /gate or chain /zone.

SOE usually suspends accounts on specific days of the month. You'll know that day, because there will be a rash of people saying they've been caught.

The random one's and two's here and there are probably suspensions from petitions/players/GMs seeing you in action.

Just remember, action isn't always immediate. It could take weeks or months. Why? No idea. I can only presume, they have a quota, a limit on how many accounts they can suspend in any given period.

If you were to enter in the data into a spreadsheet of all the people that have posted suspensions on this site, you'd probably see a pattern.

It also make sense they may watch certain zones more than others. And which zones they watch might change from day to day.

A certain macro or exploit makes the rounds, and starts gettiing used heavily. They start watching that spot and bam a chunk of suspensions.

I guess it's kinda like speed traps. Cops don't sit at the same spots and give out speeding tickets. They change the areas they watch. And man, it pisses me off when I see people speeding in the spots I got tickets. Bastards!

I've been running a lot too and nothing yet.... At this point I don't care I have a grasp on emu and I'll go to that if I get banned.
