The library:

Using the KissAssist .ini Library
  1. Find a character configuration you like. Copy the .ini by clicking the button that looks like this:
    kl1.png
  2. In your config folder, edit your KissAssist_charactername.ini (don't have one? Run /mac kissassist first, as shown in the beginner guide)
  3. Delete the contents of this file, and paste the contents of step 1. Save.
  4. Run /mac kissassist on the character to complete the .ini file.
  5. Open it again and make any customizations you'd like (refer to the instructions if you don't understand a setting.)
  6. Enjoy your boxed character.
Adding to the KissAssist .ini Library
  1. Click this "Add Resource" button, or the one from the category screen.
  2. in-game, type /plugin mq2kisstemplate and then type /maketemplate to create the .ini
  3. In your macroquest's "config" folder, edit the Kissassist_level_class.ini that was just created. Copy the contents.
  4. Paste the contents into the resource description. Optional: include a few notes about the .ini

As a suggestion, could we add a filter for version, or version range? If people are uploading ini's for 10.2.6, or Mule's variant or 11, and each of the ini resources contains the version it's for, it would be nice to be able to filter for that too, maybe to just the primary revision, not the sub-version? 10 vs 11 or whatever version it was created for?

Good idea, added as a number range. I figure .ini's for forks and variants can be found by filtering for keyword (e.g. eqmule).

At the moment I'm leaving it off filter options, since nobody's populated the version field in their .inis yet. After we get around 20 or so populated, I'll add it to the filter.

I'm not sure how (or if) we should populate the version field of the 550+ resources already in the library. 98% of them were made for KissAssist 10, and @ChatWithThisName and I converted them each to KissAssist 11 for the library. In the descriptions, they still list their original "version number" even though they're now in Kiss 11 format. The conversion plugin mq2kisstemplate converts 10 to 11 and vice versa, but does not touch the version number in the .ini itself.

I captured the INI version of the one we converted intentionally to give an idea of how old the INI file it originated from was. Without that showing there'd be no way to know what version of the INI it came from, or how old it was to give you any inclination that a lot of things have changed.

Having added a large quantity of INI's to the list, it might be prudent to rate INI's you find useful, perhaps others would find that useful as well. Hopefully we can get more KA11 versions up and running for every class and over a period of time have a more up to date library. But this means that people have to share their INI's! Hopefully there are still some of you out there who understand the system enough to make them for uploading :-)

Further Bugs/Suggestions:

At the moment it appears as if the sorting functionality doesn't work quite as intended. I filter to shaman and say sort by level, and it kind-of-sort-of sorts the list, but it doesn't put all level 70's together, and it appears as if it only sorts the first occurrence of each level it finds, but the duplicates end up in a melange at the bottom of the list.

I recently posted a series of warrior ini's for lvls 1-50 and none of them are showing up if I search for "warrior" under class, but I can find them with my user name, or just in the general list. Not sure if this is a time delay result after uploading, but before the search function can find them?
-Edit: So, a few minutes later and now they show up when I filter for Warrior, but if I filter by "with conditions" it doesn't show any of them, although a number of them do have conditions, and have the conditions flag set as well.
