• Hail, we're RedGuides. We want you to play six (yes, 6!) EverQuest characters at once. We have scripts and a friendly community to help, please join our playstyle and say hello! 👋
  • We've added LLM sections to our Terms & Rules and Resource Rules, for everyone's sanity & in-game safety.
    a. Do not replace your voice with an LLM. This goes for your posts and your scripts. Drafting and editing with a tool is fine, but don't take you out of what you share.
    b. Do not replace your EQ character's voice with an LLM. We don't want scripts that speak over /ooc, /shout or other public channels. This has been an unwritten rule that's kept casino scripts off the site for decades, but we're now compelled to make it clear: keep automated communication private.

    Why Does RG Review Scripts?
Nearly every LLM-written Lua script we see is making your character do impossible things, and rarely in a way that's beneficial to you. We've seen heavy server hammering, /target over impossible distances when /nav spawn would passively accomplish the same thing, a spawn search that fires 20+ times per second, and other pointless actions that are likely annoying GMs.

You are welcome to use LLMs as a tool to structure, draft, and edit your work, but please read critically before hitting /lua run

Question - How to get looting working on mq2 legacy build?

I’ve seen a couple of posts mentioning that loot is currently broken on Emu build. Was just wondering if anyone has got anything that works? I’ve tried ninjadvloot in the emu kiss build and loot.Mac but they don’t seem to do anything.

Thanks

Solution
Just replace the following in the NinjaAdvLoot.inc file.

this
/nomodkey /shift /itemnotify ${Corpse.Item[${i}].InvSlot} ${WhichButton}mouseup
would become this
/nomodkey /shift /itemnotify loot${i} ${WhichButton}mouseup
to get loot working with the existing version.

Wanted to confirm this indeed works (thank you!) but my main will only loot the first three backpacks worth of loot before going on a rampage in "hunter" mode the rest of the time. I am sure it is something in the loot.ini settings or something easy I have missed.

Similar problem with looting except it fills the the first 6 bags and then says Inventory is full. /echo ${Me.FreeInventory} says "0", yet I have 40 available slots. I've found a work around of sorts this afternoon - simply place something (except another container..) inside one of the bags - presto, /echo ${Me.FreeInventory} = 36. You can then take that item back out and it's good until you restart EQ.

Fantastic, I shall give this a try this evening! I am on vacation but popped positive for COVID so am stuck back at the resort 😰

Do I edit the NinjaAdvLoot/inc file in the MQ2 folder or the MQNext folder? I don't have a MQEMU folder.

just watch this, then run the launcher. Should replace it with a working version.
