Question - How do you add another player's character to your group's heal/buff routine?

I have a friend who I like to group with. My group, which is connected to my EQ Box Chat Server, will not buff him even though he is in group. This makes grouping very difficult---especially when they are part of the six-man group. Is there a way to get my group to recognize and acknowledge a player not physically connected to my EQ Box Chat Server?

So, in my experience. It deals with the kissbuffs file. The bots will initially buff everyone in the party but if the routine doesnt record an entry in the kissbuffs the toon wont "call out"
when the buff is worn off.

This explanation could be completely wrong, but in the end, i dont think there is a fix.

Other methods is doing some Xtarget voodoo but not sure if that will maintain like you want.

I am using all of the paid CWTN plugins and the default EQ Box Chat Server.
Since now I know you're asking about cwtn stuff - i moved your post to the cwtn section.

You can not.

We don't use eqbc for purposes of any of the cwtn class plugins with regards to buffing. as explained in the videos for the classes that buff (mq2cleric, mq2bst, mq2shaman, mq2enchanter) and in the FAQ of those class plugins - your toons need to be on your local pc and on mq2cwtnbuffs for us to automatically buf them.

if you manually click off the buffs from a local character, your cwtn plugin will attempt to rebuff that character. If the non-local character is in the same group, they'll get hit with the group buffs. It's way better than pausing the plugin and swapping spells manually.

That sounds like a plan - thanks for the info)

I think it has to do with alot of the buff checks are done over EQBCS and Dannet that sends an alert when a buff is needed.
Your Buddy is probably not using MQ2 / V. V. ?

I have been dabling with X-Target and macros like RGMercs has an /rg AssistOutside option , so my Chanter outside my main group does buff the group members, but I have them all using Dannet.

I think in short, when your friend joins your group, Many Whelps suggestion is what I do as well, just start cliking off buffs from my Tank and pause pulls briefly and buffs start firing away.

Thats how I do it. Seems to work ok. As long as the buffs are group buffs. I regularly group with 1 or two people tat "Know" wht I use. and I just ask them, need buffs and if the answer is yeas /XXX puase on and buff or just click off on my tank.
