Question - how do i turn it off

How do I shut it off? If I /end or /end kissassist it just says the current macro has ended but my character keeps fighting anything I try to make it do.

/end melee seems to work, but not end kissassist

It's a bit confusing because it seems like sometimes it ends parts of it but not others. Like it stopped assisting but then once I hit Q it locks, but I had melee off and then ran kiss assist and tried to stop everything and melee is locked on again. I dunno.

Howdy, Vu-Vi

So /end ends your current macro - which would be kissassist (you could also just PAUSE your macro with /mqp on and unpause with /mqp off ((for macroquestpause)) )

if you are still doing stuff after the macrohas ended, it is likely mq2melee continuing to do stuff, or another plugin that is doing combat --- does it stop if you escape your target?

/unload

also on your computer bar there is usually an up arrow, if you left click it you will the the MQ icon, right click the icon and you get a list of options. Highlight the nuclear option and it lets you unload mq2 acrossed all of your toons on that puter. You can also reload MQ from there as well, just dont forget to /mac kissassist again on your toons. :)

So the problem you're describing comes from having mq2melee loaded with Kissassist. You don't actually need to have mq2melee loaded if you're using kiss. So just type /plugin mq2melee unload
That'll get stop your toon from attacking after you pause or end the macro. Also, without mq2melee loaded, your toon will function better with kissassist.

Are you trying to stop attacking mid-fight for some strategic reason? If you're out of combat and do /endmac, it's not going to continue going after new mobs, with or without mq2melee. If you're mid-combat, you can still /endmac and it will stop kissassist. Auto-attack is an EQ toggle so you actually need to clear your target to turn off attack.

If this is for a strategic purpose, I'd suggest you look at using the /backoff command. This is a kissassist internal command that will halt all combat things for the character. You would need to broadcast the command to all characters to halt the group as a whole.

I'm having the same type of issue. Originally I would have my group using mq2 and on my SK would unload. I would have all my other toons following my cleric and the cleric using normal /follow from eq. Problem I had was when I got to a mob, think dungeon crawl, though my cleric would hill the SK the other toons would not engage because they were following the cleric, or so it seemed. Everything worked fine if we were at a standard camp.

I then decided to add the SK to mq2 kissassist and have the other toons simply follow him using Nav2. Works great EXCEPT I can't control the SK once the fight starts as the software takes over. It runs great btw but I'm simply not learning the class as I envisioned.

I have tried "/plugin mq2melee unload" but that does not seems to work. "/unload" removes the SK from "Nav2" so the other toons will not follow him. It is a workable solution just letting him do his thing but once again I'm not learning anything. I don't want to be a cleric forever.......

run kissassist on your sk in manual mode. also, just to point out for clarity, mq2 is not kissassist. Kissassist is a macro that you control when it starts, what's in it's ini, etc. MQ2 is the background application that runs on your computer to make this all possible. You don't need to /unload, ever.

I understood it was manual as well but it does not function that way. Let me explain further if you have the time to read it. Here are the steps I take and my understanding of what those steps mean.
1. I use the "/bccmd connect" on all toons which I believe connects all to "EQBCS" that allows me to send commands from one session.
2. I turn on "/ihcstart" on all toons except the SK with SK setup as main assist and main tank.
3. I turn on "/mac kissassist puller" on my ranger when I want him to pull and use "/mac off" when I want him to stop.
4. Conversely to #3 I have tried to manually use SK as the puller.

It seems fairly straight forward to me at this point that all toons except the SK should be in "merc" mode but when using #3 once the Ranger brings a mob the SK is taken completely out of my control. If I use scenario #4 it's even worse as SK "sometimes" will start engaging the mob without allowing me to pull it to camp.

In short, I have no idea what is running the SK but not anything I have purposely selected.

I will research your suggestion and try to implement. Thanks for the reply.
