Question - How do I get the hexlink from an NPC so I can use /executelink <hexlink>

I'm playing on a custom eq emu. When you hail a specific NPC he gives you a "Yes" hexlink that you have to click. You can't just type /say Yes

Once you have the hexlink you can just type /executelink 0FFFFF00000009310000000000000000000000000000000000000000Yes

How do I get the chat hexlink and output it to a text log or /echo?

(I know this can be done, I've seen someone post the example above in discord, but I can't find them or the original post)

that's not doing anything, is there just a way to output chat into a log but keep the hexlink? it works when you /echo an item link to the macroquest window

There is a file in Lua/examples called linkdetector try running "/Lua run examples/linkdetector" and then Talk to NPC and trigger the dialog line with clickable options. In MQ console/chat, it should print lines like: found: Dialog (4) - <raw_link_text> then simply /executelink <raw_link_text>

Also I just have to mention Discord has the worst search on the planet. I know the answer is somewhere on Discord but it sucks so bad. I can literally search for my own posts using words that I typed (like an hour ago) and no results will come up...

not a problem, you can also tap MQ to "copy" it for you but thats a whole different conversation haha
