HoT release on TLPS- any advice on strategies? i box for fun, necro/sk/clr/monk. would enjoy hearing things! is my first time thro expac!

First time doing HoT and so far it doesn’t seem too bad. I’m only in group gear from UF and the mobs aren’t too crazy. I’m working on multiple groups to try and do some of the raids. I with the T2 raids weren’t locked behind the T1 raids as the ritual raid seems kind of crazy

Play what you enjoy, you got 2 capable pullers to offset lack of CC and if you are in a situation thats dicey... pop epic, mantle, visage and go crazy.

It's a fairly easy expansion overall. When it was live, running through missions quickly was far and away the best exp for a group. The exp of the missions were cut in half after the release of the next expansion, so I don't know if that's definitely still true or not.

Some good missions that can be done very quickly once you get them down are:
Welcome to my Nightmare
Fall of the Tae Ew
The Stuff of Dreams
A Moment of Clarity (T4 quest in T2 zone, so a fair bit harder than open world Library)
Mashing Pumpkins
Redemption

There's others that aren't bad, but I remember my brother and I running those at the start of every play session just to hammer out some quick AAs. The missions are all pretty easy, most of them are part of the progression for the expansion, so you'll want them done anyway. (Mashing Pumpkins and A Moment of Clarity are not)

If you're just looking to grind and not run missions there's several good spots in both of the T4 zones. You need full progression to get there, but honestly it's not bad. The mission for Fear Itself requires proper pulling and time if you're not very well geared.

HoT is my favorite expansion. Tons of variety in quests, old world zones re-imagined, and named mobs a plenty. HoT gives out decent augmentations and a couple nice EM ears in the upper floors. A druid or mage is nice for exodus and CoTH there.

Tier 1 group missions are easy. I was in UF group T2 gear and had no issues with Feerrott and HoT Lower missions.
Notable bottlenecks
Feerrott - A Cursed Cure - Adder Egg drops from a Sinuous Adder, only 2 pop and its on a 15min timer
HoT Lower - All easy to complete

Tier 2 has been harder in UF group gear. Drops are starting to be upgrades though.
The Grounds - Giladan's Assistant - Hailing Ikaena can be done from outside the building, but the turn in required clearing the room (not easy). I jumped in when another user was doing it to get the turn ins.
- What A Mess - Careful of the bixie camp, there is a skeleton mob that sees invis. Go to the back and hail through the wall
- It Only Gets Worse - Treants have low drop rates and not many tree's.
- The Gardner - Actually had to split mobs. Easy to get overrun in the camps.

That's as far as I've gotten.

If you made it through UF group prog, HoT group prog will feel significantly easier. The quests to request group tasks are shorter and mostly stay in the same zone. The mobs are easier.

You'll want to do as many of the solo tasks as you can easily complete on your boxes so that their faction keeps up for spell turn ins and vendor unlocks.

If you like XP grinding in instances, Fall of the Tae Ew has 350+ mobs to chew through and they are all dark blue to level 90, unlike the base zone.

You'll find a few named that are quite strong in HoT, similar to the spitting firebug or summoner netikos that would catch people out in UF. Aside from that, the group game in this xpac is really nice. There are cool rewards for doing all the prog/hunters (bunny illusion for example), and the zones/mobs are unique and interesting.

Here's an update for the other group tasks. I am still working on Fear Itself though.

The Well
Spent way too long looking for the exit in the mud room in here. There is a little hole that you have to get over just right to fall down.
- At Peace I will be - Near the end of the quest where you have to kill 2 "a mouth of insanity" a mob will spawn after the second one dies calld "The Adversary." Make sure to have everyone target and ready to hail on everyone. If you miss the hail, you have to repeat the whole quest.
- Group mission was easy, start towards the mud pit area and work your way around and east.

The Library
Easy quests. Watch out for Named mobs as they see invis.
- Group Mission - The last boss will summon adds during the fight, be ready. The same as the rare spawn in the normal zone.

Erudin Burning
Easy zone, just lots of running. Zone is split into thirds. Top third - invis works, middle third - invis to undead works, bottom third - it's a mix so watch your invis.
The fallen Citadel - Locations for triggering the quest updates were random. I had to move around the area on each character a little bit to get it to trigger.
Erudin's Apocalypses - Check the hails on each character, mine didn't always register
Raiders of Sacred Tomes - Books are random so I only completed on one character

House of Thule upper
Invis works on most of the zone. Watch out for the dogs on the west side as they will see through invis, and in the bottom east side, there are undead that will see through it too.

Al`Kabor's Nightmare
I completed the all quests on each character as I wasn't sure if they could use the teleports. It's not too bad to finish.
- A struggle to survive - Don't loot the research notes UNTIL all the quest mobs are dead and register for the quest. If you looted early like I did, respawn was pretty short.

Miragul's Nightmare
Invis works good for the first section. If you take the hidden path, invs to undead works.
Pick up all the quests that you can at one. Note that Please Release me and Such a Prankster are both shared tasks so you can only do 1 at a time

Anyone try the house upper raid or well raid with 1 group?
Any suggestions or tips?

House upper 1-group is easiest with a knight tank, but I'm going to start trying it with my war group soon.

each lilith phase: With a knight, send your knight in first and build threat/summon tank while you wait to get fear timer, then bring the rest in and full burn. Use deflection to DPS while you face tank, summon tank outside deflection. Cantata of Courage on bard has 60s cooldown, so it's not a bad idea to throw that in your twist instead of Chorus or Pulse since you won't need the mana regen. It's easiest if you just wait ~30 minutes on your full burns between each phase, but some of my friends are 1-grouping it without waiting on CDs. Could consider leaving healer outside the room (out of LOS) if your DPS is slow or you aren't waiting on burns for each phase.

1st phase: Before you hail lilith to start event, kill the snakes on east side of the zone, put campfire in the room below where she will spawn, and campfire there after hailing to skip all the trash. If you can handle the adds that go active after she dies, handle them, or just zone out.

2nd phase: Move your campfire over to where phase 3 will start before you do phase 2. Use your bard with DA song to split lilith from the golem, kill the golem alone, then do lilith.

3rd phase: Go to campfire, use bard to split lilith from the 3 mummies and kill the mummies. Then move your campfire to the hallway immediately before lilith's phase 4 room before you push lilith on this phase.

4th phase: Go to campfire, yeet her. Finishing blow makes this one trivial.

With warrior group, I am thinking that I'll just wait for a fresh cantata of courage to hit, go in with fort and immediately full burn. Plus use War Cry if needed.

For Well, just pop deflection/fortitude/melee burns right before the split at 50%, and back off your melee for a moment until you establish agro when it splits. As long as you have a UF BP on war / HoT BP on knight, deflection/fort will outlast the silence. Very easy as long as you survive the silence and you aren't too slow killing the splits.

Didnt get a chance to try this yet. I didn't realize i was missing a Library raid flag to request it yet other toons have rusty key but no flags oh well.

If someone is able to request and wants to team up to do it and the well raid let me know.

The hot upper raid isn't terrible with a little finesse. the hardest part is the earthshaker golem and the FD AE. I havent solved that yet with my only healer being a cleric
