Hello all,

Does anyone have any reccomendations for completing the High Priest mission?

I am using The_Priest_Cure Lua with a grp makeup of War/Clr/Mage/Bst/Necro/Rog all of which use CWTN except my Rog. I have tried this mission all sort of ways which all result in the Warrior dying. I have tried to burn, drop 1 and 2 bots and replace with 2 merc healers and still the tank dies. The tank is max AA and has all type5 and missing some 18/19 augs but otherwise decently aug'd. He has about 50/50 raid gear and grp gear with raid weapon(s) and raid shield(which is set up i use in mission). He can tank 5+ grp zone mobs while burning down but this mission eats his lunch. Any ideas would help as i cannot for the life of me beat this botting.
He also has issues in the Control Room but I manage to beat that with an extra healer. Forgot to mention that I dont fail the emotes and mostly only have 2 Acolytes and Rector up with the boss at any one time.

Thanks

That mission is a DPS check (too much damage = harder time)

When you see adds (rector + others) up, stop dps'ing and waitch for Rectors to come in. Kill rectors, the blue adds poof. Rinse repeat, win, loot.

Oddly enough.

As long as you have a pet up you will never fail or spawn a penance mob. So you could keep your Mage/Bst/Necro there with no fear of spawning an add and increasing your DPS from not having to run away.

Best strat it to beat the main boss down until he's locked. Kill the 2nd Rector that spawned then kill the first Rector. ( The last add to spawn is tied to HP% of Priest and the 2nd Rector for despawning it. ) Use dragon glyphs on your tank until you get it figured out.

Hope that helps.

A couple of thoughts and a question out of curiosity - is your tank dying because it’s overwhelmed by adds? Or because the healer is running and out of range? I haven’t used the Lua you mention, but those are two very different problems.

Thought 1. Slow roll like slated above. Watch for the adds - you’ll see them before they become active. Immediately target yourself so anyone on chase stops dps on the adds. This solves for problem 1 above.

Thought 2. Disable any run away mechanic on your healer. This will keep them in range at all times. Worst case scenario you’re tanking a penalty add + rector/adds + boss. But those should be doable

I was dying a lot until I realized that during the run response of the LEM, my toon running were put on pause and would not return or cast as a result. I now manually unpause them when they are cleansed and they run back doing their thing on the way. 100% success and I run this multiple times a day.

One of the biggest reasons for my failing at first even using a Lua was over dps'ing the boss. If you take him down too fast you get multiple run away call outs back to back and fail them all. But we do need more information to help diagnose what is causing you to die, like Tim said. I know just the first set of acolytes and the rector can be pretty brutal on a tank, even on an SK fully ToB raid geared. Glyphing through the first 2 sets helps a lot.

Maybe take this with a grain of salt since I'm using only boxcar now and not automation, so it may take some work to adapt especially since you have plugins, but here goes.

Pet taunt works in TOB missions, and pets mitigate the horrible spikes on these guys really well. My SK is pretty much max group gear and gets folded like paper, but even water pets seemed fine. So, on the 3 add waves sic one pet on one acolyte, one on the other, then grab the rector with your real tank and kill it. I was using macros with `/pet kill an_acolyte_01` and `/pet kill an_acolyte_02` but had no luck, maybe a range problem. Picking them from xtar and sending the pets worked fine though.

I don't bot these missions, always had a group. But any time the group was on the weaker side, we always went slow dps on the boss, killing adds as they spawn and not getting more than one wave at a time. Don't let your necro dot the boss at all. Never. Necro and druid dots can easily over dps and spawn a 2nd wave of adds.
