Caught 5 suspensions and 1 ban. I am now a Lazarus player! I'll be focusing my time on getting the RG VV things to work well.

I am super excited to start over again somewhere that MQ is accepted, hope to see some of you around!
 
Setup wasn't so bad. The Lazarus wiki lays it out pretty nicely for you.

After that, its just playing with the automation I used on live, seeing what works well and what doesn't.

* Check out lootnscoot for looting on laz or use rgmercs Lua which has it built into it.
* MyChat is the only way to get tabbed chat windows.

All of my stuff was built around playing on laz first and then tested against live later =)
 
Lootnscoot is working well as both part of RGMercs and standalone. I did post a weird message I got in the RGMercs chat on discord. Other than that its been great!

I haven't been this excited about EQ since 1998-1999ish. Its a whole different ballgame when MQ is accepted as a valid playstyle and I don't have to be paranoid about what I am doing in front of others. There's also no damned popup reminding me to subscribe, no need for Krono to get AA, everything Lazarus offers seems to be available from the start. This is great.

Also since the game goes to OoW, its a simpler game and the things that are present are more relevant. Unlike the gazillion zones in live that you'll never go to. I am having a good time so far. I'll post a summary of my MQ findings in a day or two so potential Live refugees heading to Lazarus have a place to start.
 
Ouch suspension suck for sure. Luckily emulator is a lot more tolerant with mq2 and understand it should coincide with the game or at least some features in general. You picked a great server to start on Dhaymium has some fun content!
 
Game goes to oow but it included dodh spells, raid zone DSK (custom version) hard core versions of zones, and bunch of other custom made group 6 man zones.
 
First weirdo thing encountered on Lazarus... sometimes you just can't loot. Not sure what this is all about. It usually is fine when you log out and back in, looting is working again. If anyone knows about this and perhaps its on my end, please let me know!

I like to set Lootnscoot to corpse radius 5 to eliminate the running around looting everything issue. With the value set at 5, you have to go deliberately stand on top of the corpse and it loots.
 
I figured it out, lootnscoot has a setting to not loot if other mobs are in a specific radius. I lowered that number and the issues appeared to have cleared up.

Issue was better since I made the edit but not completely fixed. I think i met all conditions to successfully loot and its telling me no again. I can't even turn it all off and loot. I wonder if there's an intermittent server thing or something?

Grimmier saved the day... its a Lazarus thing. You can fix it by jumping and trying again. Rejoice!

Welcome to Laz! I immigrated a couple years back. Getting to 70 is really just the start of the game. First time you solo (6-man) Time or Tacvi or Anguish (much later), you'll feel like you've majorly accomplished something! Getting used to swarming is a really cool aspect of the game too. It's nice to be able to freely discus macro/Lua/MQ talk. Just don't AFK pull and you should be good. Epics are boosted there, and 1.0's are worth doing for some of the clicky effects. With the recent Sebilis HC zone release, epics have been increased to 2.5 (1.0, 1.5, 2.0 & 2.5). Make sure to join the Discord channel to keep up with the server on-goings / latest patch files.
 
What I wish for Laz is to eventually implement the Dragons of Norrath expansion, now that it is fully available for Emu servers. But AFAIK the owner didn't have any plans to take the server that far unfortunately, I loved DoN :( ... Still a great server to play on though for multiboxing!
 
They said in /ooc that they want to finish the current custom content that they have planned then they will enable DoN.
