Question - having 10 fps in eq when starting MQ (1 Viewer)

Hello this might be the wrong place to ask but Im having issues with low fps when I start up MQ.

Im new to this so it might be a simple solution Im used to box with out any help program, but after a long away period from EQ I restared on Frostreaver (again).

Now I can box a grp on my computor in full gfx no lag issues at all. (run a 32Gb Nvidia 3080ti and an AMD Ryzen 9 5900 system. I run 2 1440p 165Hz monitors side by side.

Everytime i start MQ game semi freezes and comes back, IF I am in the main eq screen everything is smooth and nice but the others wich I placed in the offscreen are at about 10 fps laggy and choppy. It works all good at max fps before I start MQ. Not sure what to do here exept that I know its unplayable atm.

If you are running framelimiter, you might see it working.

It will tell eq to full out run the client with no breaks, but only visually not render the 3D world and your ui depdning on your settings, the client is still doing all the things it needs to do to work, just not render the world in full fps, this makes your cpu very happy.

EQ client has a built in break that slows down everything even mq as mq runs in it space, using framelimiter removes those breaks and makes the client go speed.

You are fixing one "issue" but perhaps exchanging it for another. If you notice any characters not responding well to automation, you will need to reenable it. The need is not always relative to how badass your system is.

Many people just run with full on framelimiter, making it disable any rendering in the background as it can, simply to limit the strain on their cpu's and make eqclients in the background run as if they are in the foreground with no limits.

Watching only their driving toon and trusting their automation to handle whats going on in the background toons, you can always tab to them if you need to regulate them or control them.

right now by turning it off you have told the eq clients running on your machine, to take a break every time it renders a frame, slowing down processing of data and that hurts mq and your automation, like you will notice that toons fall behind when you run them around with follow and chase modes.

but if it works for you and you like seeing all your toons do their things in the background, you should do that, just be aware you are hurting your performance, for example dps can be hurt big time.

It is actually intended for the background accounts to look choppy and low FPS as Automation and FPS are opposing forces. As one goes higher the other needs to go lower to find that level of balance. Having a solid GFX card raises that balance point higher for sure. If you do not experience any downside from running full tilt than your balance point is higher than the basic settings of the game and the culmination of all your accounts. If you were to add accounts eventually you would see the balance point lower and automation suffer. It is generally not advised to remove the framelimiter.
