This has been an issue that's been plaguing me for months now. I've launched eq with and without mq active, reinstalled vc++ and june 2010's directx as directed by other forum posts, restarted my computer, and it'll still hang forever on login as attached. This will also happen regardless if autologin is used or not. I've looked through logs so many times but never found anything particularly conclusive. Anyone else encounter this?
facts:
- Firewall allows eqgame.exe for both incoming and outgoing connections.
- Tracert shows timing out errors after the 8th hop (without VPN) and after the 13th hop (with VPN), neither connection appears to leave isp-related addresses nor do they manage to reach eq severs.
- Ran Tracert using my phone's hot spot data, looks patchy (three different deadzones of just "request timed out") amongst 30 jumps, only 13 successfully reached ANYTHING but nothing beyond network switches. No VPN was used for this test.
update! : Adding as an edit for ease of reading, I have also verified my firewall rules and deliberately created one to allow eqgame.exe to do whatever it wants.
