Problem - Hangs on login? (5 Viewers)

This has been an issue that's been plaguing me for months now. I've launched eq with and without mq active, reinstalled vc++ and june 2010's directx as directed by other forum posts, restarted my computer, and it'll still hang forever on login as attached. This will also happen regardless if autologin is used or not. I've looked through logs so many times but never found anything particularly conclusive. Anyone else encounter this?

or if you're euro but using US server - maybe just takes a long time?

Sorry, but I'm American. I'm trying to log into Frostreaver, but most times it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to... never, for the server select list to load. Even using "connect to last server" on the login screen doesn't bypass this.

gotcha, your screenie was titled in french, so thought maybe =p

30 minutes is wild - have you tried doing a ping / tracert to see if your isp has a broken hop somewhere?

have the ability to connect via vpn and see if different?

Dw, a lot of ppl assume lol. I study the language and just got used to having things set in it.

You mean ping/tracert the login server? I've only been on windows (after a while of being a linux user) for like a few months so I'm a tad rusty.

I can quit out of Everquest and connect to a VPN real quick to check, will quote this post to attach results.

You mean ping/tracert the login server? I've only been on windows (after a while of being a linux user) for like a few months so I'm a tad rusty.

I can quit out of Everquest and connect to a VPN real quick to check, will quote this post to attach results.

Ran tracert to the login server (VPN enabled), it turns to request timed out errors beyond the 13th hop, appears to never leave my isp...

On the second time (now without a VPN enabled), it turns to request timed out errors beyond the 8th hop.
