I made a new group on Rizlona the other day of WAR, CLR, BRD, ROG, MNK, BER. Not sure I want to try raids, but I am considering adding another group to complete epics 1.0-2.0 and doing harder content/bosses etc. I am in absolutely no hurry as I have certain goals I want to reach before moving on to each expansion. So I am asking for opinions about what I can complete with 2 groups and what might be most beneficial to my current group. Thanks!

I would add SHM,BRD,MNK,CLR,BL,ENC

Split groups so they look like

WAR,CLR,CLR,BRD,BL,ENC

MNK,MNK,ROG,BER,SHM,BRD

BL and Sham buffs are major DPS increase for melee, as are sham and bard epics

2 clerics and a sham healing will be enough to keep warrior alive for most anything you can do with 12. Enc for obligatory CC, though I run 18 with no enc and so far haven't had any issues.

Optionally you could drop 1 monk for a ranger for buffs and auspice in omens, but monks do more dps in general.

Mortous's advice is good. I would do the same thing except put a trash ENC on one of the bard accounts to log in for buffs, and replace his spot with a second tank, warrior or paladin you could make an argument for either.

Having only one tank makes it very difficult to deal with rampage and fights with adds. And also, you now have two balanced groups that can go do things independently when you don't need the whole 12.

keep in mind im not a monk player, i have detested the monk class since the beginning, that being said
War/Clr/Clr(or druid)/brd/bl/rog
Paly/Shm/Brd/enc/necro/mag(or wizy)
would be the setup i would go with.

I used a setup similar to this to run most content up through alot of POP. even a portion of raids.

MT with war i had 2 clerics for awhile but 60+ i went cleric druid. and they can easily keep tank up np
Used the Paly as OT/puller.

The setup was ALOT of fun and pretty easy to box

If he was doing 18 or 24 i would agree, but for stuff that can be done with 12 I would say bard is good enough to ramp tank it. If you drop enc I would add more DPS or more healing, though I guess pally offers both. I just think 2 tanks is overkill for 12 toons.

So if I did do a second tank, warrior or pally are suggested over an SK. Why not an SK? Just curious. Thanks for the replies, I have a lot to think about now!

Bone486 , SK is great and I use them. Especially their epics is a great save and makes a great start to long fight. There is a nice SK Macro in the INI library you can pick up as well

You will get more mileage from pairing a pally with your war than you will an sk. I run sk/pal and love the sk, but I really wish I had made him a warrior. Defensive is just too good.

If you know how to play Warrior. Definitely Warrior is the best option .

But keep in mind

Warriors is the one Tank class that is most dependent on gear for survivability. Unlike SK and Pally who have a lot of spells to keep themselves healed.
