Anyone figure out how to do this one with KISS?

Can't get my tank to attack anything after issuing /backoff ... switchnow isn't helping, it ends in disaster every time I try.

Thankfully you can tell the NPC in there to reset ...

after you do /backoff you need to do a /backoff off to get it going again

this is an event using targetswitchingon=1 might be a good idea, so you can swap targets with your tank

I have done this event with mq2war and with kiss

I have to do it twice?

Thanks man! I'll give that a whirl then instead of chasing my tail in a circle which is what I did off and on all day.

Yeah from CTaylor you can specifify or just toggle it, but if you do a backoff you need to do another backoff to un-backoff (lol)

What I do (as the tank and MA) is target myself and issue the /switchnow command. Once I want the characters to attack something again, I target the new target and issue another /switchnow command.

I haven't tested that in this mission, but it should work. I used it extensively in the GMM mission where the dude flies away and comes back after you shoot it down.

all I get when I use any of these is that is not a valid command. what am I doing wrong here?
my main is a tank and MA, ive tried just about everything i can think of, i cant get my bots to leave off the main mob and attack adds reliably.
The closest ive come to getting something to work is making a hot key for all my bots /setbackoff, then i have to click through all my boxes and hit it twice. it still dont work very well. and when i use the /switchnow command it either does nothing or says this is not a valid command. any help at all would be appreciated.

Man ... I must suck really, really bad.

My tank is a box, I main an Enchanter.

Anyone care to share their hotkeys they use to beat this event?

I have done this mission 2 times, but I still can't 100% pass it by 1 time!!!
It is depend on my box control situation.
All of my char use KA . main control is sk(6 box)
I switch target by command : /backoff as below
1. /backoff on
EX: /bct tank //backoff on
/bct mage //backoff on
.........
.............
2./backoff off
EX: /bct tank //backoff off
/bct mage //backoff off
.........................
.........................

3. my healer I dont use /backoff command on it (keep heal status)

I cant get the /switchnow command to work. are you using mq2melee on or off? I use a SK as my main toon and is the MA, would i issue this command only on my main toon? is there anything special i need to do to make it work? i never run /mac kissassist on my main, should i? like target myself and run /mac kissassist? my group is 1 cleric, 1 bard, and 3 zerkers, plus my main a SK. please help ive been experimenting. any specific settings i need in my INI file?

I do it this way:

1. target myself
2. /bcg //switchnow
3. Then hit a hotkey that groups the members back up again (in case they’ve spread out)
4. Then when I’m ready to send them back in I target the mob I want them to kill and do
5. /bcg //switchnow

I’m running kissassist on all toons except the SK (tank).

Just started playing with some melee toons,
For the main assist role:
[Melee]
AssistAt=95
MeleeOn=1
FaceMobOn=1 front
MeleeDistance=90
StickHow=snaproll
AutoFireOn=0
UseMQ2Melee=1
TargetSwitchingOn=1
for all the others
[Melee]
AssistAt=95
MeleeOn=1
FaceMobOn=1
MeleeDistance=75
StickHow=snaproll
AutoFireOn=0
UseMQ2Melee=1
TargetSwitchingOn=0
Using two EQ socials with EQBC commands:
<Assist> /bcg //target ID ${Target.ID}
<Attack> /bcg //attack on

Manually change targets with MA, use assist social group immediately targets new target and waits for AssistAt health or when followed by attack social the group immediately engages.
Dont know if Basic setup would help at all

I finally beat this by not boxing my tank. I pretended I could play a tank, put everyone on manual / assist (Chase on Zerks) and made sure camphere wasn't set, and used /switchnow with a lot of follow me and beat it that way the first try.

Does the icestorm always come at around 40% or some other predetermined interval? Not sure how to get to the aura in time without the group getting summoned and then shredded by the AE.

Some extra strategy that bears repeating (from the Velks thread)

It takes 2 successful emotes to drop Grin. So on the first emote of the cycle, I run only the toon who was called for to get underneath him. For the 2nd emote of a cycle, I run all toons on follow so that I can begin fighting as soon as he's down. However, I only do that if all adds are clear, otherwise I ignore the emote. It doesn't reset so if adds are up, I do not drop Grin until all is clear. Adds are priority 1, Grin is priority 2.

I believe Icestorm is based on time on the ground for Griklor. I’ve done the mission a dozen times and not once been “icestormed.” My DPS is quite high and he never stays on the ground for more than 5-6 seconds.

Good to know. Thanks for the response.

I think I will try to drop him only when add free, as someone mentioned earlier, so the dps can focus on Grik. Hopefully that prevents the icestorm. If that doesn't work, maybe I will try subbing a mage for the SHM, as I normally run SK, CLR, SHM, BRD, ZRK, ROG.

I'm lazy. If I'm not in a hurry I'll just stand the group in one spot and let everything come to me. It takes a while this way because the chase emote is only satisfied about once every 10 revolutions but all the mobs will eventually path to where the group is standing. I have a bard and enchanter and all the adds are mezzable. My main is SK and I have to manually keep him from chasing Griklor sometimes but eventually he will quit trying to chase and switch to the adds. I'm using the latest KA version and I keep the group chasing the MA so they don't chase after Griklor too. I have plenty of healing so I don't worry about the ice storm or the other damage emote.

I've tried chasing Griklor around the building but I usually end up with characters stuck in the geometry and dying to adds warping on them. I stay on the north side of the building where there are fewer obstructions.

Would that work with warrior, cleric, chanter, 2 mages, and wizard?

I always struggle with the adds when I have to run the warrior to the aura. Usually an add will kill the cleric or something before I get back.

I use ICHmercs for cleric, wizard, and chanter.
kiss for the warrior and 2 mages.

Do you recommend not going to the auras and let them come to me?

Any advice is welcome.

I just have my group on follow, run around in the aura. If he drops all good and well click off follow beat on him before he flys off again. Concentrate on the adds, if he gives the emote to say adds are going to spawn just stop following him, stay at the lower side of the keep away from the hole and debris. Forget about the named, get rid of the adds let them come to you.
Once adds dead just follow under him again. Even if he drops and you are fighting adds, forget named, kill the adds. His AE gets stronger the more adds that are up.
It becomes more annoying the fact that sometimes he drops and you can melee 20% off of him, other times 1%.
This one isnt a race, just take your time and you'll ace it each time.
Adds 1st, named 2nd.

My Zerkers tend to run off after G using mq2berzerker. And using /nav target to get them back seem to crash the game often. Ill try with ihcber tonight. How do you guys control your Zerkers?

/zerk mode 0

and then run kissassist (a blank one).

for this mission i use the switchwithma turned on and just have everyone clear target when i don't want them doing stuff

Sic does targetswitching need to be used if I manually drive the tank? I haven't verified, but it seems that when I change targets my crew changes too. I guess I should see if I have that turned on.

P.S. Thanks for the info on backoff. I am not yet to doing ToV missions, but I have done some fights where the mob goes inactive at a certain % and all my dps chases and wipes the group. My fix for that was to stop attacking on my tank, fade him and rez the rest of the group. It was annoying, but I had no idea how to make them stop.

yes, if you're using kiss you will want to be able to swtich targets with your tank, otherwise it will be stuck to grik while he's in the air.

If u use kiss on tank set grikor to extended target 2 slot make sure target switch is u will now be able to switch from name to adds np

The secret to one dropping grik, I have found, is positioning.

Once you get inside, you want to open the map and look at the circular fort area like a clock. next position your guys at the 11th hour post/wall protrusion and target grik. Wait for his target circle to pass the 11th hour post, and right where it passes is where you need to position your group.

Mark this area on your nav so you can come back to it for a later mission.

Now, you want to get all of your guys at the 11th hour position as close together as possible. Finally, you’re gonna watch grik circle the map. You want to activate the mission when he is flying at the 1 o clock post. Make sure hes as close to the 1 hour as possible.

Now, you can just sit there and get your burns ready. He will pass you once and do his emote. Then, the second time he passes over, he will drop right on top of you.

Using this method, you don’t have to move at all, and you can almost always get him in one shot if you have decent DPS.

Switch from named to adds? nah, deflect/offtank adds, keep nailing Griklor

I do similar, except I camp on the hill to the right, and trigger the event just before he reaches the entrance.... no running necessary, emote triggers as he flies over

Thats if u got the dps.. some newer box groups can't down him in one go or like me I take new recruits on it to practice hitting emotes for raids

what kind of sustained DPS would a group of 6 need to get him in one drop?

its not about sustained dps, its about how much dps can i immediately get in < 30s or w/e so he doesn't fly up

at 110 (not 115) i could 1drop griklor with sk, clr, bard, zerk, zerk, bst --- the sk/zerks would all do 700-1m each which is huge.

this is why it is SO important to get the entire team engaged the SECOND you can engage him, waiting for a 99 or 98 health is going to cause you WAY too much delay

Thanks Sic. I haven't tried Griklor yet as I'm trying to get my team's AA level up but I'll go to 100% assist for all before I do try it (I do that already for my two Ber and Rog). My group on a burn does 1.5M DPS right now and it's improving as I add AAs.

I can say my group does avg of 800 to 1.4k and I can barely hit one drop maybe 1 out 8 normally 2 I'm not a dps group tho pally bard bsty shaman mage chanter. Im a conquer anything group

@Agland its all about the burst. I’m doing about 1.2m sustained now, and just burst grik for 3.4m. I think I could do better than that, because I did grik right after the velks mission.

my group is WAR/CLR/BRD/BST/BER/BER. All are max AA and silver, except the tank is gold.

Before, my group was WAR/MNK/SHM/MAG/ENC/CLR and I was doing half of the dps. Even a little less than half on bursts/burns. I came to the realization that dps is king, and I’m very happy I switched.
PS Shadowknights suck

@Sic how are you engaging your group on grik immediately? I’m doing it pretty fast, but I still wait for 99 health

Guess I could make a hotkey

/target Griklor
/alt activate the warrior DD aa

that would get him down below 100 right as he drops on me

well the cwtn plugins can assist at 100 without fuckery, but outside of that you would want a social hotkey to have everyone assist you and turn on attack ASAP

if you are waiting for health to drop below 100 before engaging you are likely missing out on very key seconds.

this fight to 1 drop is purely burst dps in a very small window - any time lost on the front is significant

DId that result in a one drop? I'm guessing yes. BTW, you guys got completely hosed on Saturday.

@Agland we did get completely hosed. Ridiculous... especially after having sat through two seasons of chad Morris.

My second group that bursts over 3m can consistently get him in one drop. I think if you can get to 1.5m-2m pretty quickly, like within 15 seconds, then you can get him down in one shot more often than not.
