jb321 submitted a new resource:

GribbleRun.Mac (Into The Hills) - ports to DH, gets the task, goes to POK, ports your group, everyone enters, and tank starts auto.

This assumes you are a wizard and are bound in DH, it will gate you to DH, it will get the Into The Hills task, it will port back using knowledge gate. It will then move your group for a second, just in case you were on the PVP server.

It will then port to DH, have everyone enter the instance, and then...

SMASH!

Change Line 59:

/bc scoobyoo //mac muleassist pullertank

put your tank name in place of scoobydoo, if you don't like muleassist..

/bc scoobyoo //mac kissassist pullertank

this...

Parked group in Dead Hills. Wizard cast Bind Affinity on self. Entered /mac gribblerun Suppil <group tank name>. After 15-20 seconds, the wizard ran down the trail to stand in some shallow water. Then MQ2 window began spamming, You do not seem to have that spell memorized. /end to end the spam. Off to find some other content.

Same thing happened to me.

Used this last night, worked good, picked the group up, got the task and brought them in.

Thought it did more as I ran it without looking at the code, but it just loads muleassist on the tank then in pullertank mode, which works fine though so no worries, thanks for the share.

Just thinking of using this mac to run Gribbles (never done in my EQ life! lol) I have a group (SK, SHM, Wiz, Bard/Ench, Mage, Ber 85-87), but I have been using RGMercs to level my team.

If the Gribbles.mac "loads muleassist on the tank then in pullertank mode" do I need to set up MuleAssist INI files/KickAssist INIs for my team? Any guidance appreciated :)

RGmercs will work too for it, you could change the line in the macro that starts kissassist to /rggroup or whatever is needed. If using KA OR Muleassist, ye[BGCOLOR=initial]ah you need to have your ini's set up[/BGCOLOR]

The gribbles mac just automates getting them there and grabbing the task.

In the actual mission, it just goes into pullertank mode so it isn't very sophisticated, so that will sometimes run the group into multiple mobs causing a wipe if your crowd control fails or your tank isn't up to it. You then need to finish the task yourself, it is just a hail and then run back to the start of the zone and another hail.

There area some mobs in the mission you will want to /addignore like the two task npc's at start and finish and there are a few different versions of the zone that will spawn but in the middle section there are 'captive gnomes' surrounded by a couple of undead mobs, when you kill the undead, the captive gnomes take off running back to the zone in like they are freed, so you need to ignore those or you will chase after them.

Trying this out I get stuck I think on line 49 "/alt act 456".

What is it trying to do here, all I get is a message saying "You don't have that ability".

88 wizard, is it some aa I need to be higher level for or something?

"/alt act" or "/alt activate" is a way to call an AA from command line. This is feature built into main EQ game and doesn't rely on any 3rd party software. Each AA has an id number so you find the AA you want to enable and can add it to hotkeys. I think 456 is teleport to bind for some caster classes. So in the macro that is probably the step where the wizard will port the group back to DH as per the description.

Cool, thanks I found it.
Looks like my wizards going gold for a month again :hfive:
Yet another AA I didn't know I'd be needing, can anyone point out some posts on which wizard AAs we will use the most? it can be hard to choose which AAs to grant sometimes when you don't really now what they do.

look for the spell it says you dont have and get the spell should fix that

Is there a way to make this one work with DanNet instead of EQBCS?

I actually stopped using EQBC quite some time ago - but thought I would give this mac a try if its nots too obnoxious to update for a nub like me.

*Edit*
I am guessing that with very bites that this one is not used as often now - I have never really done heroics as I have always favored open field hunting - but this also seems like a way to get some gear on my toons - subplot, I switched servers and do not have all my normal tools at my disposal.

I am very much a newb at this - but I will see what I can do on my own here :)

*Edit EDIT*
While doing some testing - I zoned my group in - set my tank (SK using CWTN) to hunter tank. He did not budge - any secret sauce for that in these instances?

Good morning - I am trying to be very careful how I phrase things in this post (1. do not draw the ire of Sic 2. new to trying to do this) so bear with me please. I have always open field hunted before, but this play through I thought I would try some instance runs and earn some gear tokens.

I have been working on GribbleRun - Into the Hills.

My goal - convert from EQBCS to Dannet - this should be possible I believe. And try to add a tweak or so surrounding the initial "ambush" encounter. Currently I use the base lines to move my team into the instance - and then it sets my SK who is using CWTN-SK to hunter tank. On the first pull - he runs right past the ambush site and ends with a lot of mobs. I want to nav to a spot ahead of that - spawn the baddies - and start pulling from there.

Issues - having a ton of trouble with " cannot see target' mobs. So my guys hunts the first part of the zone, but when he gets to the bridge he cannot "see" anything and just sits there. And the aforementioned - running right past the ambush on the first pull and killing half the group with a dozen mobs at once. And lastly - once my group gets the quest initially, there is always at least one toon that I have to manually speak to Gribble to zone in.

As I am brand new to updating something to this extent on my own - I would appreciate any tips on my current issues. But I also want to be clear that this is not my resource - I am not trying to take any credit for this resource - I am just trying to modify it for my own use.

All credit goes to the original resource. - https://www.redguides.com/community/resources/gribblerun-mac-into-the-hills.1654/

I did post on the discussion thread there - but it was getting no views - so trying to expand my audience just a hair. Some other folks with way more exp than me on doing this may have already solved these issues.

the "can not see target" is a current, ongoing eq bug

posting in the resource is correct - posting randomly outside the resource is incorrect --- if you wanted to take over a resource and you aren't getting information from the owner, you can msg me or redbot and we can coordinate

@jb321 are you intrested in working with Wraith on these updates?

Update: Fixed the "hailing problem" - stupid easy solution - bind closer to Gribble.
Fixed the "ambush" pull problem by adding in some lines to nav forward - trigger the encounter - and then engage hunter mode.
Swapped over to entirely using Dannet and CTWN alias for group commands
Obviously I cannot fix the "cannot see target" bug - so my stuff will run all the way to the bridge area and then they start having a lot of issues - and I have to manually run up to mobs on the bridge to be seen and engage. I can go back into
hunter mode once across though.

Issues: Still need to dial in some of the delays - in test runs (about 5 yesterday) it is not uncommon for someone to lag slightly behind on the port in - miss the command to hail etc. Need to adjust those some. Actually in the office today, so I can't fiddle with my lines and test today. But will keep working on it tonight. Once I get it all working and tested a bunch of times I can share it - GribblesDannet edition if anyone is interested.

Update: I don't get to play every day like I used to - so a bit slow going.
I believe I have everything timed out now to successfully launch the group - I have run the script now 5 times post my last update and so far (fingers crossed) it always gets the entire team in zone and running. Still nothing I can do about the bridge currently - as hunter tank just does not see the mobs (known bug). But once you manual across the bridge - you can go back into hunter tank mode and it will finish off the instance cleanly. Once they figure out the "hiding mobs" issues I believe it will run the entire zone.

I been thinking about trying to script the entire run - mostly just for practice as this is my first ever macro update. Normally I just throw my cash at Chat and Sic.. lol. I figure based on what I have been doing - I believe you can set nav points at each point of combat? I would need to learn to watch a combat state for each position - once all mobs are dead you nav to the next? Seems doable.

I have never actually posted a full script of any kind - can someone plz DM the proper steps, I will share this one so others can test and critique.

Sic updated GribbleRun.Mac (Into The Hills) with a new update entry:

Into the Hills - Dannet Edition - Updated by Wraith

A small update to the original Gribbles that uses Dannet and CWTN class plugins.

Like before - assumes that you are a wizard that is bound in DH on or near Gribble. And that your group is waiting for you patiently outside the GH.

Will grab mission - port to fetch the team - move the team to DH - get everyone into the instance - put everyone on assist and off of pause - and set the tank to hunter mode.

I am taking no...

@Wraith6911

I assigned you the resource since i didn't hear from JB - and I denied your new resource because, again, should update existing resources where possible.

Thanks Sic.

As my first time out - always looking for feedback / pointers on how to improve it even more or include things I could have missed, so for anyone else that still uses this let me know what I can do to continue to improve.

checked my messages and didn't see anything, but was asleep at the wheel anyhow, glad that someone has taken over to bring it into the 24th and a half century..

I discovered a weakness in my update this morning - I need to use nav points rather than a built in location saved to Nav - so my other tank did not walk up and "trigger" the ambush. Will work to update this.
At the office today - but hoping to get it put in correctly during the week.

was there ever a fix for the "you dont have that spell loaded" Eq problem? I tried to run this last night without a wiz but whole group was in DH and I got the DZ but then nothing after that except the "you dont have that spell loaded error"

I have never tried an alternate starter toon other than the wiz or druid (with modified call to lines for movement)

Which ever toon you launch this one will attempt to cast specific wizard spells and use wizard AA - if the script does not see them I imagine it would create a loop of looking for them since it cannot resolve that line. As it sits right now, the logic written in the release version of this assumes you are a wizard.
