Tech - Graphics Card Upgrade Time

Time to upgrade my graphics card (I'm still using an old GTX 740). If I buy a 8gb GTX 1070 am I really going to regret not jumping for the 1080?

Game wise I mostly play EQ (some skyrim) and planning to try pantheon and ashes of creation when they come out. I also do a fair amount of GIS work.

1080 ti is the next card i put in. Currently running a EVGA 980 ti, fantastic card. I too will play pantheon and more than likely build new rig for it.

1070 will max regular 1920x1080 for even the most graphics intensive games with even the most ridiculous details turned on

I'd say stick with 1070 if you do not plan to upgrade to 2560x1440 or full 4k for the next few years.
