Besides spending the pp in the bazaar for the horse mount, anybody know of decent mounts that drop or even quested. Wondering if there are any decent options for a mount with a few hours of investment.
 
Stating the obvious here, but a great cheap starter mount might be in your /claim window. Check and make sure there isn't one, most of the expansions from the past few years have given out mounts.

If you have loyalty points, you can try your luck with gold tickets. There is a very fast mount that is pretty common if you own all that no-trade rewards (If you have the reward for the turn in on you, you won't get doubles. The only exception is the mount and Guise of the Deceiver, so you can kinda make it a 50/50 per turn in for the mount.)

Deathknell #1 and the FOB raid from SOD expac can also drop raid speed mounts. It's little time invested but also requires you to have the resources to do so (I've boxed DK but haven't tried FOB - pretty sure it's completely boxable too though). If you're solo... kindof limited to Emperor/Seru for drops, or like mentioned above, gold tickets via loyalty. Lots of people have the sets of items (6 tradeable) so you really only need two tickets at worst.
 
Remember. Now all mounts will have the speed of the fastest mount you have. This means if you do not like the look of the droggy, you can get a cheap horse and it will be as fast as the drog from the glowing black drum. Alas, the glowing black drum drog does not have a good AC/HP/Mana buff.

Easiest mount in the game to get, that's also free, is via the EverQuest Worlds mobile app. You can only get 1 horse per phone tho unless you can know a way around it ;)
 
DK 1 is easy to do boxing, soltaris has a raid speed drogmar also. FC2 boss can drop a piece to make the robo boar raid speed too. FOB1 has the raid speed sokkar flying mount. MMM raid boss has a raid speed mount too. I have done the first 3 that i listed only difficult ones are FC2 and soltaris, and its only soltaris 1 thats the pain the rest is easy. FOB1 ive been wanting to try for a bit but been too lazy to try. MMM has a hatchet type boss in it so havent tried it.

gets you Glowing Black Drum

what I do is make a level 1 toon and park him at the casino with all 6 LORE items in his inventory and "loan" them to any toon I need to "win" the mask or the mount, you are guaranteed either the mount or the mask so 50/50 so the most you will need is 2 Gold Tickets to get a uberfast mount!

how do you get the mount from this app?
 
I'm guessing you've figured this out by now.
If not, just complete the first quest by scanning pictures (found here)

It will give you an activation code that works on the Daybreak site, even though the app is still showing SoE. I can confirm this as I redeemed for the mount 5 minutes ago.

I have a toon that just sits at the quest giver with a bag that has all 6 lore items in it and usually an extra ticket, I hand it off to whomever needs the mount, they turn in and hand the bag with the lores back to my toon. there are only 6 items so its not hard to do.

I did it last night about 14 times (my friends enjoyed the gifts)... I just deleted the app from my iphone and redid the scanning for the mount code. I didnt try to apply more than one mount to an account, but the mounts are the 950 SC mounts (destriers - choose 1 of 4) it 'may' work, so I will try that tonight.

I love this idea. Just got two of them for my last two caster's that needed mounts. Only four of the lore items to pass around if I decide I want more but I suspect the others will come in time.

Edit: Nice fast mounts too, 250 run speed, fastest mounts in my team now.

I ran into the same error most are having, when you tell it to scan it just exits the app... research time...

no biggie done it 5 times on the ipad back to back, just delete the app and reload it and run it again... over and over.... gonna try to claim it more them once on 1 toon next
 
I never asked, but is this drogmor the same speed as the others you'd purchase (think it was from gunthak)?
 
The Glowing Black Drum Droggie is the raid speed one. The only mounts slightly faster, I think, are the Knight AA summoned ones.

Thank you, that's what I wanted to know. I couldn't seem to find the summoned mount when I looked. I'm about to be in need of about 30 mounts. LOL
 
Field of Bone raid (final confrontation) used to be soloable by a FD/fade class that could train all the mobs around, but now I see (after checking alla's) that it might not be anymore. I bet there are other old-world raids you could do for the mount.
 
Don't forget to put together a bag of Droppable Casino items. The six items are lore, so when you have them on you, you won't waste a Gold Ticket. The items are:
Ton Po's Bo Stick of Understanding
Scimitar of the Mistwalker
Fungus covered Great Staff
Holgresh Elder Beads
Rubicite Breastplate
Vibrating Gauntlets of Infuse

Just pass the bag around to those heading to the Casino. I think they revamped the casino event a bit last month. You used to have to hand in the item over and over again if the RNG picked one of those items that you already had. Now, it seems to give the Dark Elf illusion mask with the first gold ticket you give and then you get the drum with the second. It may still be random, but I just did this with about 8 toons and I got the mask first every time. So count on it taking two gold tickets for every mount you want (if you have your Casino bag of trinkets). The bad part is the gold tickets are lore too, so you may want to place a campfire at the loyalty vendor, or take a bunch of alts to the casino each with a gold ticket.

I have most of the groups set up with their own fellowships, so could run them all to the gold ticket vendor and campfire. Run three with tickets to turn in location and whatever arbitrary toon holds the lore items. Those three do turn ins, success or not, campfire back. Get a new ticket if needed or sit idle if success. Run back those needing or add from 3 waiting to do next round. Repeat as needed. Sound workable? :)
 
Yep, or if you really have a production, bind them at the loyalty vendor and have a wizzie and a campfire at the casino to click to and TL to bind.

That actually sounds like a plan. Going to have to note all this now that we talked it out to do this as effecient as possible. I literally looking at doing for almost 30 accounts before it's over. Can load a group/team at a time and do, camp out and repeat.
 
I'm wondering, which mounts work with classic models (without active hacks)

I know some station cash mounts do, but that costs money! :P

You could get an Amulet of Necropotence and use the old skelly illusion.
 
All you guys are awesome! I woulda never thought to try and find all 6 pieces of tradables in the bazaar but sure enough they were there, along with a gold ticket. Spent about 300kpp but was worth it, got my Glowing Black Drum tonight! Man is it fast, but makes me a bit sea-sick. I'll have to get used to it. Can't wait to race my bard. Shadowhaven being right off the bazaar made it a quick trip, and using the Stein to get back to not very far from the loyalty vendor kept my wizzy in my pocket. Great thread!
 
Incognito, you can buy a cheap 10k horse and it will run at the speed of the fastest mount that you have used. I really hate the drogmor wobble thus use the horses once I've used the drogmor once.

Yep yep, true ture. This particular toon has been gathering dust in the shed for ten years and never had a mount before. None of my toons ever had TGD so wanted to try it. Now, as you said, any subsequent mount will have the benefit of TGD speed, which would be funny on one of those early gimped freebie horses haha. Although, in thinking about your point, which I hadn't thought of, all I need is 2 (potentially 1) gold tickets for each toon that has a mount they like but want TGD speed. Yes it was previously mentioned but my focus was on getting this freshly revitalized toon a cool mount... myopia is like a box of chocolates...

There should be a macro to do the turn ins until you're either out of toekns or get a golden ticket. LOL
 
I finally got around to doing this with GREAT results. Had eight toons gather eight tickets, brought them all in sitting at the casino, decided to bless the cleric with a good mount first, and began the process. Cleric got it in five tries. Gave the lore items to the wiz and continued. No drum for the wiz but all the lore items are now in one deluxe toolbox on my low level camped close by. As I am able to acquire the gold tickets I will cycle back through and check that item off my spreadsheet. When it is this good I do not mind adding a checkoff column on the master spreadsheet.

Column: header - Glwng Blk Drm Mount, empty - not yet, Y - got it, Holder - holding the lore items
