Release Gearly - A Gear Management Tool 1.23

No permission to download
Yes, logging in/out will mess with DanNet.

As for the Test icons....I have no idea. One of the MQ devs are going to have to weigh in.

sorry been offline this whole time, didnt see your message..

If this is a test only issue (I'll log on a group on live and test to see if I'm having same issue or not) then I'm not concerned..

As mentioned, its only a graphical issue, and I know the slots, and functionally, its working anyway, and thats the important part..

Edit: I tried on a bunch of toons I logged onto live, and it all works.. so its definitely a test server issue.. go figure..

Eager to try this as well. When initially loaded, this is the error I received.

Reloaded DanNet, quit/restarted game, tried on multiple toons, all the same results with error at line 183. Went into init.Lua and parsed the TLO entries around there for inventory stuff and everything read fine in game.Annotation 2023-04-26 062031.jpg

No. Test has some weird problem with symbols. Was more wondering if you were on emu or something.

It sounds like you're comfortable with editing files.

Can you put
printf("i%s Inv%s slot%s",i,Inv(),slotName)
Right above 183 and send me the output please, including the error message?

Hello Lemons god job! but i got this error, only 1 char online lev 65,
IM PLaying on LIve server , not test server

Loaded and unloaded MQ2DAMNET, perhaps another plugin needs to be ON...

Let me know if u need/want more help i can test...

Is there a way we can have it display only in raid/loaded/everyone who’s ran gearly?

Is the blanked out area the name of the only character that you were running it on?

This error will only occur as described above when DanNet info is wrong/stale.

I've got a potential fix. Next version will also allow the ability to display characters based on their DanNet group (/dnet info)

Hey Lemons! Love this utility!

I do get this error occasionally. I think just some nil checks to safeguard against this would be fine.

I also have a request ❤️
I guess I'm just thinking about my workflow. I have a driver on my crew, and when something drops, I inspect it, Gearly shows me the list of potential crew members who can use it.
2 things:
- Could you code it such that Gearly temporarily inserts the item in question in the table of people so that a apples/apples comparison can be made? This way the stats line up nicely and neatly and can be quickly evaluated. Maybe a different color background on that row to highlight it's the item in question.
- Make it easy to give the item to a character, maybe a right-click context menu Give To: => <name> kind of thing.

Thanks CB.

How in the hell are you getting nil there lol? Is it only on occasion or consistently repeatable? Added a nil default and a bit of debug for the next version. I assume this is only happening on emu.

1) I see what you're saying. I'll look into it.
2) Beta testers didn't like that feature so I removed it. I'll add it back in once I add some safety checks. I had a series of buttons that would travel and trade the item on your cursor. At this point, I won't be messing around with manipulating advanced loot window behavior though, since there's already a right click --> give to functionality there.

I can get it to error pretty regularly... I think :)
I haven't actually tried this over and over, but it seems to happen like this.
I give one of my crew something, say a pair of boots.
I have the character equip the boots
Back on the main driver, I click the "Refresh All" button so that the data is updated with the new equipment.
I click on something else to check it and "kaboom"

Thought it might be that. It's probably mid refresh and trying to update. I'll see if I can improve it beyond the nil checks.

Thanks

i cant get this to run i just get a message say cannot find gearly in the file system. i tried downloading from the launch and manually and it wont load either way any help ?

Download the file and unzip it into your "lua" folder

Is there something I a missing for this to be added to the launcher? I have it watched, but I do not see it on the Lua tab and that would be sweet! If not, I assume we need to d/l the new version each time you update?

Are you watching the discussion or the overview?

same

When you watch the resource, make sure you're on the "Overview" tab and not the "Discussion" tab. The launcher will take care of the unzipping etc on its own.

I've got it right just guess it's not gonna work for me

Hey all. I saw this and would like to give it a go but have some questions~

I see the .zip has a dannet folder that includes dannet.test.Lua and helpers.Lua. I
Is it OK to overwrite the ones I already have in my Lua folder?
Or do I unzip it all into an entirely new folder in the Lua folder?

Thanks- BB

Edit- OR should I not DL it and just use the launcher?
Worried about overwritting suff that is working. I've DL'ed stuff before and zoinked my MQ in the past.

You should unzip the file directly into your Lua folder. Everything is self contained within the Gearly folder.

Launcher is the no-fuss option that should be used.

gearly Lua missing from latest download? no file found when trying to run.

I'm not an expert on the launcher, but make sure that the folder name in your "Lua" folder is only named "Gearly". I wonder if the versioning on the zip is causing it.

there is no Gearly in the DL only a gearData and init i even tried /Lua run gearData becasue its the only Lua included in the DL and that starts a Lua and ends right after
