Hey guys,

I know I saw this somewhere, but a quick search has turned up blank.

Can anyone recommend a good text editor for modifying ini and the actual .mac file?

Thanks!

Yeah I would say Notepad++ as it has so many custom filters or search filters for anything for editing.

There was a walkthrough on the boards here 4 setting up custom filters for Notepad++. I can't find it immediately on my phone. I used it when I set up my notepad plus plus when I started here on red guides. I love the custom filters that it helped me set up, providing appropriate color for the various files associated with this.

i use crimson editor, but you can actually use visual studio for free these days and i typically just use that instead.

Notepad++ as well here.

I really like it with the compare plugin, if you are utilizing a group effort style project.

Will check out Crimson editor, been a number of years for me on visual studio, did not know they changed to having a free use ability now. I will definitely be checking that out as well, Thank You Pete!

Yea have to agree, the visual studio community edition is a great editor.
For years I have gone back and forth between notepad++, ultraedit, and sublime text. Just wish VS was not so heavy on resources or I would use it everywhere =)

If you aren't compiling visual studio code is also pretty decent. it's an electron app that is great for things like node / front end dev.
For MQ2 macros I've used notepad++ for years.
