Question - Formatting in forum posts

How do you insert a carriage return / new line in a forum post? Ctrl-Enter just posts the message, as does Ctrl-tab.

That is an interesting question, but here is my input

If I press enter like with this line, it is a new line.

Alternatively you can also use "insert horizontal line" if you want things to look further separated like...
