Question - F2p What Best DPS?

Coming back to Everquest, I plan to start a box team again. My question after 120 and aas, for Free to Player toon with T1 gear, which silver toons would be best for DPS?

Your caster classes usually fair better going F2P, because melee toons take such a big DPS hit with not being able to use the +HDEX augs and non prestige weapons. Willing to bet most people will come back with Mage being the best F2P toon and possibly Necro next (due to lower DPS the necro has a chance to shine).

Use raid loot item search for dec aug lookup if you want to do ftp melee. But yeah casters ftp are not bad at all.

Rogue seems to do fine (For FTP ) in all NoS FTP gear and getting the few FTP DEX augs you can find in raid loot as along with the +damage augs for their wep.

Rangers. They can hang back thus avoiding a lot of the up front damage and still do considerable damage with bows. But it depends on your play style. I cannot play pure casters so I always go for something else.

Not saying Rogue is the same as when subbed just saying that Rogue is "Fine for FTP" if you get them setup right.........and takes more effort for sure.

Necro or mage will be your top F2P Dps. I use mages cause faster kills stops the necro from really getting going.

Not debating the difference just was offering another opinion for those who do not play casters. What would you suggest if no pure casters were used?

if you arent using casters but still F2P, Ranger or Rogue and focus on areas where headshot/assassinate are viable.

I run a ftp 115 max tov aas zerker but going to switch to a mage and see how much greener the grass is on the caster side lol

Mage for quick dps, necro for long term engagements. Rogue and Zerk would be next best if tou go melee route

strictly FTP I will always say mage - such little investment to get a lot out of them.
