Tip - Extending your All Access via Krono

So... I haven't seen anyone mention this (or maybe they did and I missed it) so figure I'd share a little tip to save some money/krono. I'll preface this by saying it works best with Krono (haven't tried w/ an actual sub b/c who does that? :p).

Whenever you get your All Access with Krono you get the 29/30 day timer as we've all seen. However, when you're about to hit 0 days, as long as you stay logged in you can maintain All Access until the character logs off again. I've extended some characters by a week without any actual sub doing this. I could have probably gone longer but a patch or zone crash will squash it. If you time your Krono usage right around expected patch dates you could probably really cash in on this.

Since most people here are using really nice computer setups since they're boxing multiple toons, you shouldn't have much trouble keeping EQ running for days or weeks or whatever unless you've got a memory leak.

Anyhow, I didn't realize this till recently so I figure there are others out there who didn't notice either.

Pay a Krono about a 5 days to a week after a major patch and you should be OK with eventual emergency patches. I love this. Thanks a lot!

Exactly. While they aren't *too* common, emergency patches usually are within ~5 days of the original patch [Thu - Mon]. It's not a perfect method but every bit helps!

Glad some people have been familiar with this already though. IMO saving as much money/krono as possible is one of the best forms of beating the system.

yeah between toon crashes and server crashes I never get more then a few days uptime, but its still a few days... why is it always the tanks that seem to crash..... ftp accounts never crash for me, but activate a kroon and crash city! bastards!

You can also set up a trader or buyer in Bazaar just before your All-access expires and then go offline trader mode.

As long as the server stays online your trader/buyer will too. I've gotten extra 20 days on my trader before like this.

The catch is that you can not restock the supplies though

yeah and now twice today not only did I get multiple crashes (36 clients) I had 3 that came back as level 100s when they are 105s and when it happens you lose your 3 and 4 shared slots so expect bags in parcel! grrrr!

I have a few characters still in the same zone with All-Access not counting down, so that part still works (unless it changed this morning). Zoning will correct the timer though.
